F that noise, Tim Raines used to slide into base on his stomach as to not crack the vial of cocaine in his back pocket.

Pussies.

"''When players use smokeless tobacco, they endanger not only their own health, but also the health of millions of children who follow their example,''"

So ya know.. how's about MLB and U.S Senators remind parents that while some kids idolize athletes, these kids should still follow examples of their parents. Also, and more importantly, some/most athletes aren't trying to be role models, so let's just find a few that WILLINGLY say they want to be, let them be examples, leave the others and their personal lives alone.
If Player X does something that a parent believes is a bad example for their kid, kindly have that parent remind their child that the athlete isn't their role model, and that behavior isn't acceptable...or are we not exercising parental/personal responsibility any longer.. why are you looking at me like that? I do already know teh answer, I just believe if we say it enough, it'll change...right?

But drinking beer in the clubhouse during games is still okay, right?

THIS. Are we going to ban all famous people from doing anything that is remotely bad for your health? We're gonna have to lock Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton in a dungeon somewhere

Dear US Elected Officials,

Please focus on things that matter. Like, maybe the economy. That would be a good place to look into. Not sports. I know this is hard to believe, but they all have their OWN governing bodies. Whether they do shiat or not is not a NATIONAL farkING ISSUE.

Thanks.

They are going to ban something that is rarely seen during the two-and-a-half three four hour telecast that begins when most of the (THINK OF DA) children are in bed? LOL!

2011-10-18 08:56:13 PM
It would be so f*cking epic if MLB players started wearing shirts & hats that read "Keep your laws off my body."

committee cockblocking and anonymous corporate cash do a million times more to obstruct progress in government than grandstanding bullshiat like "no chew for ballplayers" or the "puppies are cute" resolutions and stuff like that

Oh, I completely agree.

But, that isn't my point here. There are other places to argue what you are talking about. The Sports section is not it.

So it's come to this - 2nd hand dip.

Maybe they should ban the selling of beer at baseball games too - after all, kids go to games and hear "Ice Cold Beeeeer" way more often than they actually notice players chewing tobacco.

Sure, not everyone who uses alcohol suffers any health issues from it, but neither do all tobacco users.

Then ban football - many players end up crippled
ban auto racing - drivers die after too many left turns
ban baseball - viewers die of boredom

just ban tobacco use altogether..

And all alcohol consumption
All prescription pain medication
All obese people
All thoughts that are not wholesome

When our lawmakers are concerning themselves with shiat like this, in wake of so many other problems that they actually contributed to bringing about, how is one to not be concerned that our country is doomed?

Yep. No chewing tobacco, but I think dropping acid is still OK though.

Like none of our elected officials smoke cigarettes or cigars, right?

Clean up your own house before you start telling others how to live. Then maybe, maybe, you might get someone to listen to what you have to say.

Assholes.
