"It's an original idea, and to people who say it's modeled after a game -- it's a lie," Cain said during a campaign stop in Tennessee. "That's all I'm going to say. It is a lie. You see, that's the difference when you become one or two in the polls. People make up stuff. That is a lie. I'm not going to take it back and not going to politically say, but unfortunately, that is not totally true. It's a lie."

Does he, or does he not, have a mod for the traffic snarls all around town? That's all I care about.

And I want a country club, goddamnit.

Clearly he means to spend all the money first, and drop everyone's funding to 0.
Then he's going to give everyone maximum funding, and raises taxes to 20%
Then 999(999) will be achieved.

Herman Cain's got 999 problems, and biatching is one of them.

You know, for someone who feels he needs to lecture the nation on having a sense of humor, that was awfully huffy and defensive, especially when the parallels are so obvious.

Why not just say, "yeah its an amusing coincidence, but I have a serious tax plan and it isn't true"?

Dear EA, produce SimCity 5 before I'm forced to start kidnapping the children of executives. That is all. Also if you produce another "The Sims"/"Sim City" hybrid, I'm going to kill you and sell your organs on the SE Asian blackmarket.

Love,
Your customer :)

Trickle down economics worked well for growth in SimCity. Of course you eventually had to raise taxes after the city grew in order to pay for all the government services for all those people. Our cities are pretty filled out already.

/Growth and jobs, just not in the U.S.A.

So much this. How hard can it be to polish the graphics a little and burn a few discs?

i know right? why can't they give us what we really want: simcity, but with less building and planning and more first-person shooter urban combat. GET ON THIS EA!

Screw that. Sim Copter, AH-64 edition. You know you'd buy it. It would be like the disaster button, but more personal.

I'm still fairly satisfied with SC4. I periodically get bored and then pick it up a few months later and start a new city. I'm currently trying to sort out a crazy traffic situation in what has turned into my 'downtown' area.

It would be cool to create a huge urban city, then get to become a terrorist cell whose plan is to destroy the city.

I vowed long ago that EA would never see a penny more of my money. I don't care if they give away their entire library with a complimentary blow job. For free. I'm not interested.

/DIAF, EA!

I haven't played SimCity since 2. I'm thinking of getting 4 just for the hell of it. Is it worth the $9.99?

Unless you have the traffic mod, that's going to be next to impossible.

The vanilla traffic AI uses a 'shortest path' algorithm to determine the route each car commutes on. They will ignore your freeways and take the country road if the route is even just a few tiles shorter. Road capacity and commute time be damned.

Is SC4 the one where you get to (have to) drive around to put out fires or was that some weird add on or something?

Yes, but only if you get the add on packs. Otherwise you will merely loath the farking AI the game shipped with.

Actually EA had SimCity 4 with the addon packs for 4.99 a few weeks ago on Origin. So they raised the price. Its pretty good. The economy is still hard. Still have to use cheat codes :P

I just started playing SimCity 4 Deluxe the other day, after having it sit in my Steam list since the last mega-sale, so I'm getting a kick from having paid less than $9.99 for the game.

I always loved the original SC, and SC200 was loads of greatness, but SC3 was pure shiat. SC4 so far has been much better than 3, and nearly as fun as the original. The biggest problem is that it appears to be running on an old version of the Sims engine, and chugs like a Sterling Engine even on my top-of-the-line rig.

Performance problems aside (seriously, I can run Crysis on this machine at full settings...), the "anti-oops" assists when laying infrastructure are fantastic.

Totally worth the $4.99 I paid. :P

Because 9.99 rolls off the tongue just as well when you are talking about United States tax reform as it does when you are talking about a pepperoni pizza with olives.
