I have a coworker who is a PhD student and married to a professor (different department, same school).

.. I guess since they've been married a while and now have a child that problem should be solving itself.

There's a shocking amount of grad student/faculty hookups going on at most schools. For the most part it is no big issue, but it does get creepy when it is the advisor sleeping with his student or the department's head of funding sleeping with a PhD candidate.

My brother did marry a GSI he had and that turned out well. I'd say ban relationships within the department. No sleeping with the kids you control research funding for. That's only proper professional ethics. Now if some grad student in Aerospace wants to hook up with a faculty member in Theater, no big deal.

What about football players?

But they don't get paid in the same manner as regular employees....

Good thing my wife and I don't live in Michigan. My wife is an admin at the university that I was a graduate student at, although in different departments. Doesn't mention anything about universities in TFA, though.

This must have been another Republican law in search of a problem. Like the life starts at fertilization bills happening in Mississippi and Kansas, or the laws forcing ID to vote but not allowing college IDs.

Once again - another example of a law that we shouldn't need but have to create in order to have consequences for something that should bel clear is bad.

I don't have a problem with this, having seen some pretty shiatty situations in both high school (where an Assistant Principal was sexually blackmailing two Juniors), and in college where my Ancient History professor was giving out high grades for BJs.

I took it to mean kids who flunked a few grades and aren't clearing out of HS until they're 19 or 20. The article talks about schools on a district basis which sounds more like a K-12 thing. Although the article is poorly worded and I'd have no issues extending some coverage to universities.

How about undergrad/grad student TA's? As a teaching assistant, you are an employee of the university.
