she is hiding from her parents. her parents are obviously insane abusers and she is hiding from them in fear for her life. She was rescued by the driver while hitchhiking and he has her safety hidden in his basement.

She will probably come out of hiding once it is safe after her parents die. or her rescuer forgets to lock the doors to keep her extra safe inside.

Honestly, I don't really understand why so many venues have that policy -- it is stupid. It's probably something to keep us "safe" or something along those lines. And we all know anywhere that has rules is generally inflexible, so that's no shock. Regardless, it's not the venue's fault that she left and decided to wander around and hitchhike. She was 20 years old, not 8, and should have known that wasn't an intelligent decision to make.
