(Some Guy) Obvious If you lost a couple of boulders on I-91 the other day. The VT State police has them and you can pick them up. Also, they have a few questions   (wcax.com) divider line 40

Gotta love hardscaping!
Some poor home owner probably paid some tall cash for that beauty...

Lost boulders? I hope they were taken to a boulder shelter and that they get adopted out to a nice home. It's upsetting when a nice boulder gets put down due to lack of room.

Perhaps they slipped out of some boulder-holder that crossed over the shoulder.

...and they want to ask you those questions right meow.

I'm surprised the woman wasn't charged with some sort of crime.

No really!

If you're moving so fast that you can't stop in time to avoid hitting something fairly obvious in the road, you're traveling at a speed too fast for conditions. It could be rain, it could be the darkness, but the proof is that there was an accident.

It's more fun when people get into 40+ car pileups because of fog. Like somehow the fog swept in without warning and stopped them from slowing down to a speed where they could see 5' infront of them.

That's not the weirdest thing I've seen on a highway.

I saw a jet ski late at night that had fallen off it'shiatch, I nearly hit it. On 287 West, right after the Tappan Zee Bridge.

That's crazy. Mine's not close to that, but once my friends and I were headed up to Vermont in 3 separate cars on I-91. We were somewhere near the CT/MA border when a ladder fell off the back of a truck in front of us and came flying in our direction. Luckly all it did was hit my other friend's car on the front side near the wheel.

But the similarities of the two events are striking.

Quite.

This makes me think of that scene in an action movie where the good guys storm the enemy compound and kick the bad guys' asses. Then at the end, the boss gets arrested. For getting attacked. "You are under arrest for being here while this happened."

You may be a bad driver if you can't avoid hitting a non-moving Rock.

I've seen hay, wheels, tire treads, and even passed a wooden wire spool on the highway. I try to pay attention and all.

the problem there is when you slow down to 20 MPH and the asshole behind you doesn't

Too bad it didn't darwin a crotch rocket trying to set a new land speed record.

"They are negligent for either hooking down their load right or taking the chance of hurting somebody."

Something is wrong with that sentence yet I can't quite put my finger on it. If only there were a book listing words and their meanings I could use as a reference.

Probably some uninsured unlicensed Mexican illegal landscaper in a beat up tailgate opened pick up truck.

.... got to love the USA we're invaded by criminal riffraff and our government does nothing about it.

Does this mean someone got their rocks off?

On Oct. 4, Haddock struck a boulder in the southbound lane of Interstate 91 on her way to work. An early morning wake-up call between Fairlee and Thetford that Haddock says she could not avoid... because she's a bad driver?

Moving objects are trickier, as are bad potholes. But a large rock sitting on the highway in clear weather conditions? Look beyond your hood ornament next time.

Boulder rustlers! Get the wagons in a circle.

Really. Could be. Nice boulders are, as implied above, valuable landscaping material and thus liable to be stolen. Not only do people like boulders for rock gardens, water gardens, and just plain dumping here and there on lawns, they are also prized by Zen gardeners. The Japanese will pay a massive amount of money for a single natural boulder of a particularly artistic shape. I read about a jade boulder from BC that sold for hundreds of thousands (mind you, it was near gemstone quality). There's also a lot of theft of valuable trees and plants.

Query: Is a fence who sells stolen plants a green-cycler?

As pessimistic as it sounds, I bet that the follow up will be about the teen agers who pushed it off the back of their truck thinking they are funny.

I used to hang with a douchebag who did this kind of stuff. I recognise his type of work when I see it.
