* Someone is there to ride the bandwagon, may not be aware there is any other point to it.

So do I. I think they've mistaken the purpose of it, up there in Calgary, though. I expect Occupy Calgary may fit in under the "bandwagon" clause, honestly. The kind of entitlement mentality they suggest, it goes beyond the simple democratic intentions underlying OWS.

In the interest of preserving the democratic integrity of the OWS movement - in no uncertain terms - I think it would be a good idea to define Occupy Calgary and OWS as separate movements.

What is starting to piss me off about the whole OWS thing is that apparently we have no way to talk about political protest that does not rely on images that are FORTY FARKING YEARS OLD. This isnt Occupy Germany, or OWS from a few days ago.

Why don't the Occupy Wall Street folks get together and start a company. They've already proven they're willing to work toward a goal. And the fact that the majority have no idea whatsoever about what that goal might be makes them pretty much the same as the employees of every other company in America. Even at minimum wage, the total lost earnings of these guys represents a huge chunk of cash. And if you could get them to produce even some cheep schlocky product, the sales could have amounted to something substantial.

Depending on your age, "hippies" are a label for what is wrong with the world. Of course hipsters fits this bill better than hippies ever did.

So for many of my generation, hippies were slow moving bums that were more colorful than the sleeping bums, a middle aged person that never grew up.

There are like, what, 6 of them? Seriously - all they need is a milk jug (but someone will need to go south to get it) and something to cut the top off. Maybe two jugs if they want to keep #1 and #2 separate. That should last them quite some time.
