That is a very particular set of skills.

That sounds like half of the formula to Ranxerox.

And I'd probably watch it, despite my guilty feelings.

Doc Hammer: At the end he finds out his child bride is a vampire.

Jackson Publick: That's a good twist ending.

Well not anymore it isn't. Unless you aren't going to do that, and that's the twist. Or maybe you are but you're thinking we'll think you won't so . . . .

Maybe that was a good twist afterall.

I'd probably watch it as well. I grew up liking JQ (old and new). VB to me was one part JQ parody and another part doing things with that style that wouldn't have flown well in the 60's or even the 90's. Sure it had its annoying characters (Sgt. Hatred just got old after a while), but Brock just cracks me up for some reason. Overall I personally rate Hammer/Public highly for being somewhat random but still properly keeping focus, something that I see fail quite often.

This interview kind of shows their randomness well.

Press: But did you ever think about it?

Doc Hammer: I just did when you said it.

hah...

It was implied. Gotta say, Cartoon Network is airing my two favorite shows now, VB and Young Justice.

Make more episodes, dammit!

It's the best show on Adult Swim, one of the best on TV. I need more more more!

In my ideal world, Venture Bros and Archer would simply switch back and forth, with one airing new episodes while the other is developing the next season. Is that too much to ask?

I actually started watching Vernture Bros because it was between seasons for Archer and I needed a fix. I've come to the conclusion that VB is actually better than Archer, but that may come down to the fact that my family issues have to do with a crazy father rather than a crazy mother.

A lot of things are better than Archer. I tried to like it, I really did, but it just didn't click with me.

Hah. I started watching Archer because of the gaps between VB seasons. I feel that Archer is not nearly as good as VB, but it's still excellent. And since Archer can actually fire off a season every year or so, that gives it a bit of a leg up. Given the cast, I kinda think of Archer as the continuation of "Arrested Development" we never had. Putting David Cross in the last three episodes really cements that opinion.

//It makes me wish H. Jon Benjamin guest starred on AD.

Is it wrong that I heard Brock's and Venture's voices when I read Hammer's and Publick's comments?

hogans: Is it wrong that I heard Brock's and Venture's voices when I read Hammer's and Publick's comments?

Probably, since neither of them is the voice of Brock. But that's ok...it's been so long since there's been a new episode, I can see how it'd be easy to forget.

You're supposed to hear 21 and 24, or Pete White and Billy Quizboy

I'll come right out with it and say that I'm NOT looking forward to a Venture Brothers Season V. They fired World Leaders Entertainment as the animation house and went to Titmouse instead (probably at the pressure of Adult Swim). TM may be good for Flash for shows like Metapocalypse, but that sort of animation is gonna SUCK ASS for Venture Brothers.

It can't be worse than anything else in the theaters or the networks right now.,

When does the new VB season start, already?????

2011-10-18 10:58:54 AM
I don't even think that they have started on production for season 5. So I guess sometime next year? I swear this is like the hiatus that BSG used to take. On a bright note they have a two year contract so hopefully they start season 6 fairly quickly after season 5.

I love this show! But what is with the huge gaps between seasons?

Why is the bartender that works at Nighting'Ales who made fun of Brock still alive?

In one Venture Bros. episode Brock's "License to Kill" has expired and he's broken up about it. He goes to the Nighting'Ales strip club to drink and the bartender makes fun of him and his haircut. This is Brock Sampson, the man who can kill and skin a polar bear with his bare hands in about two seconds. A man who has single handily wiped out countless scores of ninjas, henchmen, and various badguys. But he can't kill the bartender even though he really wants to because his license expired.

I know after the credits he goes back and shows his renewed 'License to Kill' to the bartender and jumps over the bar to kick his ass. But the bartender appears in later episodes still alive with all his appendages! You'd think he'd be terrified of Brock showing up at his bar after he received a "Brock Sampson beatdown" and would be missing an eye, an arm, or something. I just need more closure as to why the bartender is still alive and doesn't curl up into the fetal position when Brock shows up at the bar.

/Brock fights are awesome. The Ghost of the Sargossa(?) episode pirate beatdowns were awesome! Also when he teamed up with Phantom Limb was hilarious.

The reason for the huge gaps is because the show, up until recently, was traditionally animated and it was really, really well done. More 3D was integrated in the second half of the last season and it looks like shiat. The limo in Operation P.R.O.M. is the one of the most glaring examples of throwing off the quality of the show.
