Airplane, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

/Not that I watched either movie BECAUSE of Fark, per se, but Fark made far more sense once I had.

I can't think of any movies that are particularly necessary to the fark experience.

I could put out a list of my favorite movies, but that's not what is being asked.

If anything, a lot of science fiction I'm only moderately interested in watching.

Stay away from me, Hank! I know what you have planned, OK? I saw your so-called "supplies."
Oh... that! I wasn't gonna just... ram it home, you know. I was gonna... lube it up and ease it in there, inch by inch, like a gentleman.

I was told by a bunch of sports tab nerds that I really really really need to watch Spinal Tap all the way through. I've only gotten bits & pieces, and according to some, that is a travesty and must be remedied immediately.

I said ok, but after baseball.

2011-10-17 02:15:10 PM
You need to watch Star Wars, on at least some level, so you can troll the die hards.

Idiocracy for sure. I watched it because of Fark, actually.

Anything by Christopher Nolan.

Aside: His brother is in charge of Person of Interest, and one of the main characters sounds like every one of his lines was taken from Nolan's Batman. Figured out later that the brother helped write those films. First few episodes of that show have been solid.

CTRL-F "Iron" and no results, so...

Iron Giant

also:
Spirited Away
Last Man Standing

and Inception, just because it comes up in threads fairly regularly.

2011-10-17 03:02:52 PM
Clockwork Orange
Tropic Thunder
V for Vendetta

Just a few that I see quoted frequently. Others already mentioned Office Space, Idiocracy, and Super Troopers.

"Let's Go to Prison" is funny as hell, but I don't ever see anybody quote or reference it and it has quite a few players from the Will Ferrell tree.
