With all the jokes about Muab'dib and Spice, I am surprised nobody mentioned Dune

I watched They Live because I thought it was the one with the curly-haired guy pointing. But apparently that's Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Need to see Scanners at some point too.

Von_Ruff: Is 'inadvertent comedy' a valid description for a movie?

Unintentional hilarity? You betcha!

yyrkoon: What movies have I seen because of fark?

Well none, according to FARK every movie ever farking made sucks, somehow.

What I learned was the more people on fark who say a movie is bad, means that it is probably really good. That's how I do it. If all the internet tough guys that have never accomplished anything remotely interesting in their own lives thinks something sucks so bad, I'll usually like it.

I have no idea how you reached this conclusion, but hey, whatever works.

L.D. Ablo: The Terror of Tiny Town

An all-midget Western.

If that doesn't deserve a hearty recommendation, I don't know WHAT does.

I Have The Touch of a Shocked Monkey: I can't believe no one's mentioned the Muppet Movie, for God's sake...

To go in a different direction, The Muppet Christmas Carol is required holiday viewing at la casa de TMLO.

And that's another title that's absolutely vital for Farkers: A CHRISTMAS STORY. Love it or hate it, it deserves a couple of viewings.
2011-10-17 06:44:50 PM
All of the above + Better Off Dead

Required for any adolescent member of this family or people who I consider "friends".

Here in Bruges?!... Here in Bruges?!
2011-10-17 06:47:03 PM

Mugato: SomeoneDumb: Pretty much anything and everything based off comic books because that's the only art form that's worth anything or that most farkers recognize.

Do you really believe that or is this some form of projection where you accuse all farkers of living in their parent's basements?

Not all, just most of the really noisy ones.
2011-10-17 06:48:42 PM
Pornos, mostly.
2011-10-17 06:50:10 PM
Couple of oldies:

Un Chien Andalou by Salvador Dali;

Metropolis by Fritz Lang.

I would also recommend "Flesh Gordon" if you can find it in the uncensored version.

Motel Hell

Because of FARK, I tried to watch Fargo, Fear and Loathing and Lewbowski. Ptui.

I now know better than to watch a movie on the recommendation of FARKers.
2011-10-17 06:52:16 PM
My list includes Blazing Saddles, The Big Lebowski, They Live, Super Troopers, Jaws, Caddyshack, Clerks, Shaun Of the Dead and a few others. Still got a loooong way to go. My film education's been severely neglected.
2011-10-17 06:53:54 PM
The collected works of Christopher Walken.
2011-10-17 06:56:08 PM
The Man Who Sued God (2001) starring Billy O'Connelly in the role he was born to play as a smart ass who sues God in Court.

I expect a lot of Farkers are BOC fans, but even if you hate him, this movie was made out of a Fark headline which many Farkers may have seen.

Maybe I am interpreting the meaning of "Fark movie" a bit literally, but then, this is literally a Fark movie. A movie based on Fark.

And I award myself Bonus Points for using "literally" correctly.

You could do a whole other list or thread of those.

The Darwin Awards
Urban Legends
Trolls 1 and 2
The Trollhunter
Danny Deckchair (2003)
Fire from the Sky (aka The Street Lamp)
Conspiracy Theory

All Fark movies.

If you were to stretch the definition to documentaries, the complete works of Al Gore, Michael Moore, the Truthers and all of the trolls who have made movies and documentaries about these would give you yet another list: Fark documentaries.

Fark might rival NetFlex if it started to sell Fark Movies and Fark Documentaries. Until then, there's always YouTube and Google Videos.

Hello, Bomb? Are you with me? Are you willing to entertain a few concepts?

I am always receptive to suggestions.

Fine. Think about this then. How do you know you exist?

Well, of course I exist.

But how do you know you exist?

It is intuitively obvious.

Intuition is no proof. What concrete evidence do you have that you exist?

Hmm, well, I think, therefore I am.

That's good. That's very good. But how do you know that anything else exists?

My sensory apparatus reveals it to me. This is fun.

During the Rectification of the Vuldronaii, the Traveler came as a large moving Torb! Then, during the Third Reconciliation of the Last of the Meketrex Supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Sloar! Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day, I can tell you!

Also I cannot comprehend the hate, any of it, for "Road House". That movie is just as quotable as any other on these "lists". A true gem of the 80's.

One Bad Apple: Also I cannot comprehend the hate, any of it, for "Road House". That movie is just as quotable as any other on these "lists". A true gem of the 80's.

This concept escapes me too, friend.

There are three great passages that best exemplify what Road House is all about:

"People have asked me if I hold to a unifying theory that informs my writing on cinema. In the past I've told them that I simply judge a movie on its success or failure in representing the perceived point of view of the filmmaker, but now I realize that I was just saying something to get rid of them. What I really believe is that a film should be judged on how well it comes off when compared with the Patrick Swayze film Road House. For Road House is the single finest American film."
- Mike Nelson, host and head writer of Mystery Science Theater 3000

"What makes Road House such a great movie? The answer is easy: It's quite simply the most implausible film ever made. This is a movie that expects you to believe a man can be famous the world over for being a bouncer. This is a movie that wants you to believe a small-town crime lord can afford a Bigfoot 4x4 monster truck, and that he will actually use it to intimidate local businesses. This is a movie that wants you to believe it's possible to rip a man's throat out with your bare hands. Compared to Road House, Star Wars is a documentary."
- Albert, writer for The Agony Booth

"Road House is the kind of movie that leaves reality so far behind that you have to accept it on its own terms."
- Roger Ebert, esteemed film critic

If you can bring yourself to hate a film like that... I don't know what I could do for ya.

The Mind Boggles: Kung Fu Hustle

Solid choice, that!

fisker: Spider-man 3

It *is* sooooooooooooooooo good.
