Oh good, I'm glad this was greened. I tried and failed on this article yesterday, and this is clearly a better headline.

Apparently if you put your head in the sand long enough all the bad stuff will just go away.

If you click through to the original .pdf, it's far clearer exactly what these santorum-sucking protohumans have done to the report. I won't even list the most heinous, but check out the references section and see which papers were deleted entirely.

Hey, I keep telling you people that Texas sucks.

I've been to Texas. It sucks.

I'm glad that state burned and is dryer than Lucille Ball's twat. I feel sorry for the few decent Texans there are, but considering my state (CAL) gets tons of shiat from everywhere else, fark 'em!

Yet again, Texas proves why I said the entire state should be burned to the ground.

only sometimes?

clearly science and intelligent design do not mix.
I HATE the global warming/client change/AGW/algore/panic/doom and gloom tards as much as the next guy.
BUT
if you pay for a number of scientific studies, you dont get to edit out the science which you dont like or disagree with.
While you might be able to debate the conclusions or what should be done, you cant really debate the "sea level is now Xmm higher than it was last year.

sigh

wow
that got a REALLY deep chuckle out of me.

seriously, of ALL the states which need a tag, dont we have enough evidence that texas is CLEARLY in need of a tag??

It would have to be bigger than all the other tags, and that would throw off the page alignment on Main.

The Luddites were correct in their analyses, and given the societal constraints they lived under, their response was at least rational, if not optimal.

The OWS people are more like the Luddites than the Republicans are.

"The Know Nothings are coming!" would be a lot closer, I think, although paradoxically not necessarily for their anti-intellectualism.

Gen 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

The report contradicts the Bible the "scientist: are luck they weren't burned at the stake for heresy.

Texas Government = corrupt in a way that would make a sweaty third world dictatorial regime swoon with envy.

^. Don't buy that denialism line Republicans and other corporate shills like to feed the US public these days; this right here is the real reason hardcore Christians don't want to do anything about climate change. I had plenty of folks make this argument to me whenever I'd bring up climate change back in the 80s and 90s when I was growing up. They all know perfectly well that it's real; they just think destroying the Earth is Godly work. Damn cults; always chasing the end of the world.

Heron: Do these ridiculous idiots actually think that, if they just ignore them, these problems either won't arise, or will disappear? Goddamnit, I'm tired of seeing these fools ruin my state.

They're actively hoping for this stuff to get worse so that Jesus comes back. If you actually acknowledge that it's a man made phenomenon and not part of some natural phenomenon or God's plan, then people might take steps to reverse it, drawing out the time to rapture.

To their credit, a growing number of evangelical Christians have figured out that we're supposed to be the stewards of creation, not the rapers.

Then there's these guys, who combine the worst of "Left Behind" eschatology with "socialist takeover" wharrgarbl.

I wish I could find it but there was some a ridiculous statistic citing the number of people who believe the end times will actually occur....wait for it (you thought that was it but it gets better)...in their lifetime. Some retarded % of Christians (I'm going to say it was like 30 or 40%), think the world will end in the next 50 years.

At least the JD is starting to pay attention to Voting Rights challenges to the ridiculous Gerrymandering we have in Texas these days, though with the current SC, I'm somewhat less than sanguine about how helpful that will be.

As long as they're not convinced that the Rapture is coming next month, that's great.
