Sadly, I have been married for so long that it would be hard to find my testicles with a search warrant and a magnifying glass.

2011-10-17 12:39:41 PM
So, do you bail her out?

2011-10-17 01:06:29 PM
Damn, I wish my wife would throw cupcakes at me.

Chocolate ones. With sprinkles.

This guy is totally a pessimist.

Wife throwing cupcakes at him and he can only think of the dangers, abuse, and mistreatment the woman is showing him.

An optimist would be thinking "Oh hey! Free cupcakes!"

2011-10-17 01:35:43 PM
Throwing cupcakes at him and hitting him over the head. Yeah, that's domestic abuse.

2011-10-17 01:35:53 PM
If he had thrown cupcakes at her, there wouldn't even have been a trial. He's just be locked up for the rest of his life.

So Ms. Ambiguous, did she hit him over the head with a cupcake or was it something else?

Cupcakes, don't be too hasty
Cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes!

Well she did throw something at him and hit him with it. That is assault. When the police get there and there is evidence of an assault and the victim wants to press charges they have to bring the person in, especially with domestic violence. If this had been the other way around nobody would have a problem with it. In fact people would probably be saying that it was a good thing the cops got there before he went after her with something besides cupcakes.

2011-10-17 02:00:32 PM
Because sports bars are where you go if you like like getting down to business with some testicles

From the headline it sounds like he was waiting for a chance to get even with her. Or something. Still a pussy though.

Brainwash: Man I am never, ever, getting married.

Why get married when you can have the cupcakes for free, am I right?

depends on if the cupcakes were good or not. I'll let he sit awhile. at least until the cupcakes were gone.

If women can call the cops on a slap on the ass, why can't a man call the cops when a biatch throws cupcakes?
You're not allowed to fight back against a woman, so you gotta do something.

Though her husband told police he was scared for his safety, the Tribune reports that the alleged victim has been arrested three times since 2003 on battery or domestic battery charges, which were all eventually dropped.

yeah, about that...

There was batter involved for sure.

2011-10-17 02:06:32 PM
If those cupcakes are like what my stepmother bakes, then she should be charched with assault/deadly weapon, because they are harder then rock.

2011-10-17 02:07:10 PM
Emotional abuse counts as domestic abuse. Acts that humiliate the victim are emotional abuse. Regardless of HIS past abusive behavior (alleged), the cops on the scene made the right call. Mutually abusive relationships are potential powder kegs, and it could get much worse without counseling for both parties.

/But it would be HARD not to laugh, were I doing the counseling

The article says he has been charged with some salt and batter before but she dropped the muffin tins on his charges or some such foolery.

Also why Ill never do the marriage thing. You are doing it sooooo farking wrong if your cup cake food fight with your lover friend doesnt end up with icing all over your asses and JBF hair.

netweavr: Throwing cupcakes at him and hitting him over the head. Yeah, that's domestic abuse.

Considering some of the cases that get filed against men, I say good deal. Having grown up in and around domestic abuse, I have very little tolerance for men who abuse their wives. On the other hand, all too often I hear of cases where little stuff like this happens and builds up, till the husband finally pushes back to defend himself and all of a sudden he's the bad guy going to jail. While this case may be amusing, domestic abuse does go both ways. And it can be as much psychological as physical.

ongbok: When the police get there and there is evidence of an assault and the victim wants to press charges they have to bring the person in, especially with domestic violence.

It doesn't matter what the alleged victim wants; in cases of DV, the officers are compelled to bring the suspected offender in, period. It doesn't matter if the alleged victim doesn't cooperate by making a statement either. If the cops are called out on a suspected DV, someone will be going to jail and there will be lots of legal hoops to jump through afterwards.

Yeah, I guy should just tolerate domestic violence. A woman has every right to abuse a man without any punishment whatsoever.

I doubt this guy is so much of a pansy, as much as someone probably called the cops after hearing the fight. And this is the reason why:

latimesblogs.latimes.com

Depending upon local legislation, most police now are obliged to arrest any even suspected of domestic violence. Funniest story I ever heard about this was from a Bellagio security guard in Vegas. According to him they got called up to a room one early Sunday morning when adjoining guests were complaining about a fight going on. Security goes up, hears an angry woman screaming, they open the door and go in and discover her hitting the guy. Turns out that while they were sleeping the wife had a dream that her husband was cheating on her. This overly jealous broad woke up so pissed that she punched him in the face while he was sleeping and continued to keep hitting him. So they call the cops. Metro comes out, takes photos of the husband, and then proceeds to handcuff the wife and arrests her for Domestic Violence, despite the husband's protests of course.

Fast forward a couple months and the guard who was the first responder to the scene gets subpoenaed to the court trial as a witness. They go through the whole thing, and the judge understands that the wife was overly jealous about a non-existant dream. As such the judge is lenient and only convicts her of a Misdemeanor for Domestic Violence and fines her.

I always loved this story. Not just because it can show how a man's hands can be tied in such a situation to show that he's not a pussy, but more importantly as a warning to women that equal rights comes with equal responsibilities and consequences. So don't be a coont.

Throwing cupcakes can lead to harder and bigger pastries, like muffins, banana bread, and brownies. It might even get so bad as to lead to hurling bundt or pound cakes.

Nina Haagen Dazs: From the headline it sounds like he was waiting for a chance to get even with her. Or something. Still a pussy though.

Spoken like someone who's never dealt with it. Especially with kids involved. My ex used to get violent. She was 5' nothing and 120 lbs soaking so, except the time she pulled a steak knife on me, I was never physically in danger but it is emotionally very tough and if you ever slip once and retaliate then there's a good chance you will never see your kids again.

The night I finally said enough and called the cops would sound nearly as wussy if told by someone unsympathetic. She threw a dinner plate at my back. But this was after months of counseling and "another chances" I decided I'd had enough and was going to end it.

Laugh at this guy all you want but what would you think of him if he had knocked the biatch out? That make him more manly to you?

Thing is, the cops get called and they have no choice but to take someone in. DV is bad business, so I get why they take it so seriously. Problem is that so many couples have issues that turn physical the one time (usually he hits/slaps her.) Best thing to do is to take a deep breath, realize what's happening and get help. Sadly, it doesn't work out that way a lot of times.

I knew a woman who'd get violent when she got drunk and attack her husband. (they were both pretty unhappy about their life together, but they were both drunks and it was equally their fault). He took it for a long time, did nothing but try to restrain her, and then one time he "restrained" her so well that he broke her arm.

No police involved, like i said they were both drunks. She deserved it, because I'd seen her in action, and she really tried to beat the shiat out of him. I think she toned it down after that. When they weren't fighting, they were madly in love.

I am a male domestic violence victim. My ex-wife hit me on 3 separate occasions; once throwing a full bottle hitting me in the chest, and full strength open hand slaps across the face the other two times. Swung so hard she hurt her own hand doing it.

Reason #2 why I divorced her.

It was very serious, but thankfully another friend was there to diffuse it. I think if I relaliated with violence she may of shot me.
