Barbie is loosing sales to the trashy disproportionate hipster Bratz dolls... She's just catching up is all

Meh, who cares? Call me when she gets her septum and nipples pierced.

/unless her tat is a tramp-stamp

I would never hire tattoo Barbie at my business. What would my customers say? I'm trying to maintain a professional environment. Tattoos are not professional.

2011-10-17 10:56:55 AM
Is it a tramp stamp?

Cue the "Think of the Children" crowd in 3... 2... 1...

My niece's Barbies have tattoos, applied by a 4 year old with a black sharpie. So I guess those are prison tats.

So no Prince Albert for Ken?

That cactus dog thing is more interesting than the doll.

Sorry...HUGE tokidoki fan here...I admit it...I'm 31 with a tokidoki purse, sticker covered laptop...TONS of tokidoki/marvel shirts (cause Marvel totally beats DC's ass).....and

I really want the Barbie.

Like really really really want it.

But I know I'm not getting it cause $50 just isn't in the budget for Christmas this year and it kills me. It's soooo cute...and with the cactus pup...God.

I don't even like Barbies (ok I may have a Catwoman one complete with whip and yes it's DC but there are exceptions to every rule, and chicks with whips are kinda cool).

Sorry this dool = love.

"Was that a penis Barbie" comes out in 2012.

I don't think i know anyone who has gotten a tattoo for the sake of being "fashionable"
/or at least I'd prefer not to know them

Hi, ladies. Noit here. Have you ever bought a pair of jeans thinking they were going to be a daring and hip fashion statement, only to find out that everybody thinks you look like a fool and now they sit folded forever at the bottom of you shame drawer. Imagine a tattoo as a permanent pair of acid washed bellbottoms that you can never take off.

I don't get the fascination with tattoos. To me, they were always old and busted.

I think they should have let farkers design the tattoo.

So, Barbie is just a whore in a different costume. Who really thought she was wholesome?

Also, WTF is tokidoki? Japanese-inspired? It's more like punk-rock.

seriously? ok, i understand not wanting to know them, but i'd say a very conservative guess is that at least 1/2 the people who get tats these days do so, at least in part, to be fashionable. just with buying a certain brand of purse/shoes/jeans/whatever because certain other people have them, people get tats to fit in with certain other people/groups who have them.

Tatsuhiko: Also, WTF is tokidoki? Japanese-inspired? It's more like punk-rock.

From what I've gleaned off their website, it's punk/anime mashup fashion created by an Italian.

My wife has collected Barbies since she was a kid (she's 35 now). I showed her this article, and she says that Barbie has had tattoos before, like since 1997. Barbie is still HOT!

THIS.

Eventually, don't know when, but eventually it will be hip to not have tats. This is a certainty.

\off to invest in tattoo removal equipment/clinics

yeah i seem to remember seeing barbies with the tattoo lick-n-stick decals many years ago, probably around the time they came out with that toy tattoo gun for kids

You know, If you get a tattoo because your drunk, or you think they are *in*, then perhaps this can be said.

I have one tat... It took me three years to decide what I wanted, and then I worked with my tattooist who drew it himself with my help. And you know what? I LOVE my tat... Five years now, and the only then I remotely regret is not getting it just a *tad* larger.

So perhaps, while your statement works for people who run out and get a flash tattoo to be trendy, it does not work for everyone.
