Well, that should cause some controversy. There were large discussion groups of people (mostly women) who purported to have MPD, largely based on Sybil. While I do not doubt that there is actual MPD, a lot of it always seemed like attention-seeking to me.

Multiple personalities does not exist. Having seen/met people with Dissociative Identity Disorder, I can clearly say it isn't a real mental illness. Those with DID end up having either a different severe mental illness like schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder, or were lying.

When I was in college, one of my gen eds was psychology. I asked the teacher why we were supposed to believe everything these people say when it comes to MPD or any other things they claimed were happening. She was HIGHLY offended.

I stopped going to class shortly after she stopped showing up to teach class.

We knew that.
