I doubt that anything along these lines will be aired, however. Fox does that sometimes just to be able to say they publish libby-lib stuff too, even if it's once in a blue moon, but it generally only is accessible via their website so few actually see it.

Most of the Occupy Wall Street protesters aren't opposed to free market capitalism. In fact, what they want is an end to the crony capitalist system now in place, that makes it easier for the rich and powerful to get even more rich and powerful while making it increasingly hard for the rest of us to get by. The protesters are not anti-American radicals. They are the defenders of the American Dream, the decision from the birth of our nation that success should be determined by hard work not royal bloodlines.

Even someone at Fox News understands what's up with these protests and the reason behind them.

I don't know about all, but the latest Juan Williams op-ed was certainly dumb - he created an imaginary conversation between Martin Luther King, Jr. and Pres. Obama.

There are few things as intellectually dishonest as using a real historical figure and putting words in their mouths so they can be used as puppets for your opinion. It's almost as bad as being nostalgic for a past that never existed.

That is part of the Tea Party agenda too. Kinda interesting where things overlap.

here goes the Limbaugh show. He kicked off the show by slamming the OWS movement. Rush is displeased.

there's a LOT of places where the OWS folks and the tea party overlap. I can't figure out why the tea party (as an official organization) hasn't joined the march on wall street.

Maybe the same reason we've never had any Crips and Bloods for Police Pacificity Marches.

wow...Limbaugh is really hitting the 'two minutes hate' angle hard today.

2011-10-17 12:17:11 PM
c'mon Rush....blow out that heart valve....it can't be very strong after all those years of drug abuse....

2011-10-17 12:18:50 PM
so apparently, today's anti-protest meme is that 'all protesters are evil, vile, corrupt lying control freaks and marxists/communists'.

basically, the Two Minutes Hate from 1984, only Limbaugh is serious and not playing it off as parody.

ha! Rush is tired of the protests so now they have to stop.

I'd settle for a general strike in any one city on the east coast. If just ONE city completely shut down during the week....I wonder how the Powers That Be would handle that?

Since my mom is probably listening to his show, I'm guessing this might be a bad time to mention to her that I hung out at Zucotti Park on Saturday.

Limbaugh is really trying hard to discredit the protests but even he's not able to make fun of these people. so far he's tried rhetorical tricks, he's taken quotes out of context, tried several logical fallacies and outright lied about the protesters goals. But his humor is falling flat, his lies are easily exposed and he can't even manage to get a good joke off the ground.

I think Rush hates the protests. he despises them, and sees them as a personal insult. And like Obama's election to the white house, Rush is letting his personal feelings interfere with his job - he can't maintain enough of a personal distance to really analyze the protests and poke holes in their ideals. Limbaugh is so ripped up over the OWS protests that its impacting his job performance.

Looking at the rest of her opinion articles, she appears to be FoxNews' resident liberal. Comments on that article would be interesting, but she ain't wrong.

Weaver95: ers are not anti-American radicals. They are the defenders of the American Dream, the decision from the birth of our nation that success should be determined by hard work not royal bloodlines.

Bingo. But the right will never admit this, as it goes against their personality cult. their leaders say that OWS is for nazis, communists, etc, and refuse to discuss what the movement actually is all about.

Because their leaders oppose it, they oppose it as well. They are incapable of thinking against the wishes of their cult leaders.

This is rather bold.

It also indicates a few possibilities.

The President has started using the terminology of the OWS movement, namely the '99%' terminology.

This could be an effort by the GOP to try and woo the OWS protesters, an effort to try and show that maybe the protesters have a legitimate gripe.

It could be the first signs of the GOP establishment deciding to throw Wall Street under the bus to save their own hides in the coming election year.

If so, and the GOP and the Dems work together on real reform, then maybe we won't have to break out the guillotine.

FTA: In America today, 400 people have more wealth than the bottom 150 million combined. That's not because 150 million Americans are pathetically lazy or even unlucky. In fact, Americans have been working harder than ever -- productivity has risen in the last several decades. Big business profits and CEO bonuses have also gone up. Worker salaries, however, have declined.
