There are limits to the amount of currency you can personally carry into or out of Norway. This is currently set at 25,000 Norwegian Krone (about £2,500). If you bring any more than this into the country, the amount must be declared to Customs on arrival" Link (new window)"

how does anyone with a criminal history get to do international travel?

wrenchboy: how does anyone with a criminal history get to do international travel?

He's banned from Britain for his body guards beating up the cops. However, the premise of your statement -- criminals shouldn't get to travel internationally -- scares me. Do speeding tickets count? How about No Contest pleas? There are so many laws it is impossible to live without breaking a few. It seems to me that you could never be free; the jail cell would just extend to the borders.

That's barely a night of making it rain for Snoop.

That is a stupidly low limit.

Bit low, yes. US requires what, 10 grand or more to be declared?

I guess they see this as a chance to steal his money, err seize for "obvious" illegal activity. Of course even with a legitimate reason why he made the money, if it is legal to seize it using whatever BS reason, governments like to do that stuff.

If you aren't out on bail, parole or probation you are free to do as you please for the most part. If you are out on parole though you can travel within the US with the permission of your PO. There are some exceptions depending on the severity of the crime commited but that is basically how it works from my experience.

It isn't a "limit". You can bring in a bunch of cash. You just have to say, "hey I have this much cash on me. Just letting you know" And then the country says "thank you for letting us know. Your amount of money is duly noted. Have a nice day Mr. Doggy Dog."

It says on every form you fill out flying into another country: "If you have this much cash, you have to declare it"

Teknowaffle: It isn't a "limit".

Yes, it is. It's a limit on how much you can carry into a country without declaring it. I never stated you cannot bring more than that amount into a country. I was responding to the portion I quoted that clearly states "If you bring any more than this into the country, the amount must be declared to Customs on arrival".

Considering in the U.S. and other European countries the limit is usually $10,000, I found their limit to be unusually low. Stop trying to invent an argument where there is none.

And what made these racist Norwegians suspect he was carrying too much money, hmmm? Is it just because he's a black rapper? Were they engaging in a little racial profiling there? What a bunch of Nazis, just like the Arizona government, amiright?

I would just always assume that Snoop has a ton of cash on him. Hell, I'd just fill the form out for him and have him sign off.

Still, it is the law - ignorance is no excuse. Besides, who carries that much cash in the age of cards?

He is carrying drugs.

Snoop was released after Norway's cash importation duty had been Paid in Full.

He confused them because every time they asked him his name he said S-N-Double-O-P D-O-Double-G.

They kept writing Essendubbleopie de O'Dubblgee.

Depends on the exchange rate and what you want to buy.

You should be able to move suitcases of cash with out anyone knowing. If criminals use that to their advantage maybe you should arrest them for committing the actual crimes.

Actually, he isn't. He was just on tour here in the UK a few weeks back and I saw him at a concert in Cardiff.
