While this is true, this is also a hard reality of being an "electable" politician in this country.

Hence, #Occupy.

Wall Street is crappin' its pants at even the remotest possibility of 'President Bachmann'.

In a related development, President Obama has decided there is no benefit to kowtowing to Wall Street.

After the break: President Obama proposes raising taxes on dividends and capital gains by 100 million percent. And now a word from our sponsors.

Good. I hope the understanding is that when Obama is reelected he will actually unleash the DOJ and SEC to start getting some prosecutions against these crooks.

Probably too much to wish for.

Remember when just a few short years ago, unethical and fraudulent behavior by Unions nearly brought down the world economy, and we're still living with the repercussions today?

The big money always knew it was going to be Romney. Nobody has proposed a better deal than his "transparently lift all taxes off of my corporate donors and push them onto the poor" economics plan. They've been letting the circus clowns running against him tire themselves out, but it was always going to be Romney.

You mean the Republican electorate will once again choose the establishment candidate they're told to, even if they like others more?

Shocking.

One of these things represents actual people, and their livelihoods. One of these things actively moves that livelihood to China where they're aren't so many pesky regulations about fair wages and safety to worry about.

While not perfect by any means, I'd much rather have my politicians bought by a union, if they must be bought at all.

/publicly funded elections are the only way to go.

If Republicans actually wanted donations from unions, they could, you know, not try to destroy them all the time.

FTA:
Since this spring, Mr. Romney has raised $1.5 million from employees of firms like Morgan Stanley; Highbridge Capital Management, a hedge fund; and Blackstone, a private equity firm. Mr. Obama has raised just over $270,000 from firms that were among his leading sources of campaign cash in 2008.

So basically the ones that believed in hope and change are now not falling for it?

Privatized gains and public losses with a blind eye to corruption. Why in the world would Wall Street have wanted change?

Fortunately for Obama, Goldman-Sachs is still going strong.

Is it just me, or do those numbers seem...underwhelming? I mean, the title of the article and then the actual information just seem, meh.

(Information collected over the past decade)
$26,700 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
$26,200 to the Democratic National Committee Services Corp.
$11,100 to Hillary Clinton
$10,000 to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee
$4,600 to Barack Obama
$2,000 to Charles Schumer

That's just because they finally have to recognize the reality of his incompetence. Wall Street has always backed the left over the right because the rank and file New Yorker is a liberal democrat. Check out which party that Citi, B of A, Chase & Goldman execs have historically contributed to. It is what it is.

Unions! Unions! There's almost no labor organization in this country and "union largesse" consists of some paperclips and a Subway coupon but BE AFRAID! BE AFRAID OF UNIONS!

Do seem to suggest that the power of unions equal is to that of corporations. Do you believe that they are remotely on par?

fark, I didn't even get that far. The guy actually posits that Obama is the leader of OWS, and that the common man's woes are the fault of a handful of lawyers. That's some weapons-grade stupidity right there.

As much as most blogs suck, that one is downright hooveresque.

I am shocked, SHOCKED, that his previous donors aren't pitching in to help Obama during this contentious Democratic Primary.

By one measure Romney is winning out: wallstreet employees' perosnal donation.

But in general Obama is still winning: Those figures do not account for all Wall Street giving, nor for the full force of each candidate's robust network of Wall Street "bundlers," wealthy individuals who raise money from friends, family members and business associates. And Mr. Obama continues to dominate Mr. Romney - and the rest of the Republican field - in overall fund-raising. He has raised close to $100 million so far this year for his campaign, three times more than Mr. Romney, as well as $65 million for the Democratic National Committee.

Wallstreet is quite happy with Obama in general.
