That's just not fair, Tommy's titty cam is worth the price of admission.

A few months ago I got drunk and played "Home Sweet Home" on the bar's piano. Everyone sang along. It doesn't require any skill to play, but damn if it isn't fun.

No idea how they are now, but back in the 80's, they rocked the farking arena.

First concert I ever saw was Ozzy's Bark at the Moon. Waysted and Motley Crue (in makeup, remember that?) opened. IIRC the ticket cost $15.

I saw the Crue live and they rocked. It was 15 years ago but still.

The people you want to overdose on drugs never would. Motley Crue would never overdose! You could put them in a room with two tons of crack and they would come out a half hour later screaming, "Rock on!" "shiat, they're still alive!"

I don't know guys. I mean, sure, I've heard Girls Girls Girls literally 8,000 times in my life, but I really think Vince can take it to another level at the spry age of 52.

It always amazes me when people I know brag about going to see Tommy Lee or Motley Crue somewhere. I'm even more amazed when they say they paid for tickets instead of them being at a free stage at a state fair.

Though I have to admit, I did go see Morris Day and the Time at the Leine's Lodge at the MN state fair this year. And it was a lot of fun.

Haters can hate all they want, but Motley Crue always seemed like a fun band. That never really took themselves too seriously.

Kinda like somebody bragging about going to see Morris Day and the Time.....especially if they're so cheap, they only go to state fairs.....

Oh I totally agree. But I have to acknowledge my own hypocrisy.
It was actually awesome to see the Time utterly rock the free stage too.

Ummm, subby has no farking idea what he's talking about. You may dislike Motley Crue, but they are excellent live performers. I saw them 2 years ago in Scranton, and holy shiz if that wasn't one of the best shows I've been to(100ish concerts). They played the entire Dr. Feelgood album, which was awesome. Vince still sounds great for a guy his age(48 at the time). They played for well over two hours as well.

wholedamnshow: Vince still sounds great for a guy his age(48 at the time).

I have a good gaggle of friends that are long-standing hair-metal throwbacks that show up for damned near anything that got them into any chicks tight jeans back in the day and this is the first statement I have heard countering assertions that Vince has any shot of hitting the notes he once did. It also marks the first time I've heard a review that didn't involve him chugging oxygen like an Octogenarian on their 14th hour at the slot machine.

There's an incredible reverence for them, and I don't think that it's entirely unfounded. I haven't seen it in person, but I gotta believe there's something to it. However most reviews as of late could of been summed up "You should have seen them in their prime..."

Well, I'm 28, so there was no chance of seeing them in their prime. I saw them once in Hartford back in 2000. Megadeth opened for them. Vince sounded terrible. The crowd was dead and the arena was half-empty(maybe more).

Nine years later, it was the exact opposite. I have no frame of reference for what he sounded like live back in the 80s besides their recordings, and of course, that's not a fair comparison. But he still sounded very impressive, and they were quite the energetic band on stage as well. Vince actually looked healthier as well (not on as many drugs probably).

I've seen Motley multiple times and they've never been bad, ranging from good to great. Saw Vince at least a half dozen times and he's ranged from really good to not sober enough to even speak. Vince has a wonderful habit of singing every other word and I saw him once where he got hit by a beer and walked off stage after two or three songs.

//Saw Vince in a parking lot (no joke) with the opening band Posin (great Poison cover band). Was festival seating and I was in the back, which meant I was three rows deep. Got hearing damage at that show. CSB.

Vince actually sounds better than he did then the band was charting, for a few reasons that include: He actually learned breath control sometime in his 40's and he's not constantly high/drunk.

Most of the fact that he was known as "3 word Vince" in live performances was because he actually has a fairly low normal range, but (just about) everything he sings in Motley is using his head voice. If you're not trained in breath control and do good vocal exercises on a regular basis, it's very difficult to do a good performance while running around like they tend to do on stage.

/wonder how poor ol Mick is doing -- he looked better last performance I saw
