Sounds like a really well cared for sativa of some kind. I understand they need some help as they start budding, otherwise they sag pretty badly and can sometimes break. Odd design for a plant, I think.

Also, "super plants"? Seriously, what the f*ck is wrong with these people? Cops in Napa haven't discovered the internet yet?

Oh and yeah, I feel safer.

TFA: The super plants were capable of producing multiple pounds each of sellable marijuana. Agents said the plants were supported by a bamboo skeleton to keep the large branches from breaking from the weight of the marijuana flower, or bud, growing on them.

We don't illegalize every little thing that could in the right circumstances possibly infringe on the rights of others by the way.

Also, I'm pretty sure there is an MJ field test. Either that or Baltimore PD lied to me that night I was busted for stealing a Light Rail ride.

The "field test" I'm pretty sure refers to a kit they can carry to test suspected cannabis. It helps (poorly) differentiate between your groceries and your ganja. I don't think there's a field kit for testing if you yourself are high. There's the common urine test kit which looks for THC metabolites, unfortunately this can test positive for a month after you've used. They can also test your blood for THC itself which is much more enlightening, but probably more expensive.

thebigfarker, I've heard that sort of sentiment a lot, but I can't see how it makes any sense. First, we already have this problem. Whether or not it's illegal, people are using. Looking at Portugal and the Netherlands, rates of use aren't likely to change all that much because of any change in legal status. Second, what little research I've seen on the subject indicates that only extremely stoned drivers are at any increased risk, and they very rarely drive.

2011-10-15 10:30:59 AM
That's one way to legalize it. Create something similar the government deems far. far worse, and then legalize the lesser of the "evils."

Saw an Island Skunk plant produce 22 crispy dried ounces under new lights years ago. Correct CO2, heat, humidity, food and PH levels certainly help. Daily diligence is the most important characteristic for cultivation though... Veg to bloom must be timed right, be patient and top it at over 50 inches. Containers must be over 5 gallons in the bloom stage. Mites must be searched for and destroyed every day...

We already have one. It's called the "field sobriety test", which has been the standard for screening drivers for decades, and is equally effective on alcohol, numerous drugs (including pot) and even excessive fatigue. Moreover, the FST IS the standard for the police here in California, where it holds up well in court and where the police have to balance legal marijuana use with intoxication.

I think everyone agrees with you that we don't want "stoned" drivers on the road, just as we don't want drunk ones, but it is a false dichotomy to boil the choice down to between a "THC Breathalyzer" and prison.

No height isn't an issue. The larger the plant the more bud it can support. The main danger is lack of light to the lower part of the plant but with proper spacing and pruning you can prevent that.

A field sobriety test isn't good enough? Touch your toes, walk in a straight line, stand on one foot while reciting the alphabet. If you can do these things you are coordinated enough to drive. If the officer still has doubts he can follow the person home; there is nothing more sobering than having a black and white right there in your rear view mirror. And in that case the officer is spending no more time than he would have had he made an arrest and the possibly overintoxicated person is still safely off the road.

What YOU want is evidence for prosecution. You don't want safety, you want vengeance and retribution. So as was sad, kindly go eabod.

In a few years, this whole "do-we-or-don't-we" halfassed doobie legalization thing is gonna look like pimples compared to the real problems we'll share. And people will retroactively facepalm just like we do today over Prohibition.

Along with rope, paper products, hemp clothing and other stuff the pot advocates keep promoting now they can add wood to their list.

Imagine. A desk made out of pot planks. Maybe a book case or tables, all hand finished and polished to a fine luster.

This could help cut down on the demand for trees! A quick growing, renewable source of wood!

Of course, you might have a bit of a problem with the lumber jacks smoking up the trimmings and getting all laid back and just laying around the forest.

naveline: I'm pretty sure there is an MJ field test

Surprise surprise, it's the same one they use if you're drunk, because impaired is impaired is impaired. Standardized field sobriety tests are... standardized!

There are also DRE tests (drug recognition exams) but they require more specialized training.

Also, your standard gas chromatograph blood test works just as well for other chemicals as it does for alcohol.

Sorry, but that's bullshiat. I can't count the number of times I've seen antiques, .22's, 28" 20 gauge duck guns, bolt action rifles with scopes, black powder guns and everything else all lined up in the cop's show off photos. The law was intended to punish folks who used firearms during the course of a violent felony, not every damn person who commits a crime and also happens to own a gun. By this reasoning, anyone who owns a gun is always "armed", whether or not the guns are in your hands or locked in a farking safe. If they were carrying or brandishing it would be different, but we know they weren't 'cause otherwise they would be charged with all sorts of other shiat, and probably would have been shot dead on the spot.
