I've met a few WSDOT employees. This is awesome, but doesn't surprise me.

Justice? I suppose it is better than naming your kid Charity, Chastity, or Charisma (went to school with a couple of kids named as such.)

Cute story, the teddy bear looks accustomed hugs :)

I lost a stuffed dog on a plane when I was about that age. Had one of the blankets draped over me and he was covered up and I missed him when we were leaving. I was devastated. Still feel strangely guilty over "abandoning" him like that.

Little girls' attachment to their stuffed animals cannot be overstated.

I too have a toy that was left behind. My Strawberry Shortcake doll that I took with me everywhere. Was left in the bathroom of a furniture store. My parents didn't go back for it. I also feel guilty. She's been missing for over 20 years now.

Also, love that WA is getting in the news for something cool instead of douchy.

How the hell does finding a teddy bear around a highway raise any kind of farking dust at all Subby. Dust wasn't even mentioned in the article ONCE

Wait a sec... This is supposed to be one of those articles where we let each other know that underneath the tough, cynical, no nonsense exterior that we do, in fact, have a heart and say something like the onions in the room are making my pussy cry.

That's bear's a wuss. A REMF! My stuffed animal deploys with me. He's a world traveler: USA (he's a Canadian expat.), England, France, Italy, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Kosovo, and Spain. (Overnights only, changing planes doesn't count.)

My brother once won a rubber snake at Disney, and then he left it on the Space Mountain ride by accident.

We decided it was probably more fun to let someone else find it.

/see, space mountain is dark.....

It would be a happier story if the girl's father hadn't been sent overseas to fight an unprovoked war because he had no other economic opportunities.

But, hey, this is America.

I've forgotten precious stuffed animals more than once, but luckily mom always went back for them. Once several (which is to say ALL of my favorites, mine since birth or made myself. And one of them was wearing my baby bracelet as a 'necklace') of them fell out of the truck on the way home from college. We drove the hour back and retraced our route until we saw them on the side of the highway.

That instead of being the PoS hold-a-shovel-upright at 50 bucks an hour kinda worthless bums they normally are....1 or 2 managed to avoid turning into a corrupt frankenstein and still have what some would call "a heart and possibly a soul".

Yes, I live in Washington. Yes, Wash Dot can DiaF.

I, for one, occasionally have my faith in human nature renewed. Have a daughter with a love of stuffed animal - it is now part of her (our) family. Would trek a thousand miles to get it back to her.

My ex-wife and i share joint-custody of a bear. His name is Threebee and he's with her in San Diego now while I'm in Austin. I miss him way more than I miss her. It'll be my turn soon and I'll get to have him until after Thanksgiving.

Her dad's a Sgt. in the Army. Sounds like a career military man to me. You must be thinking of YOUR father, subby, laid-off when the 7-11 down by your town's abandoned stage-coach factory decided they no longer needed a "hot dog heat-roller maintenance supervisor."

But hey, this is America.
