You don't know the name of the gal on the cover of the Sear Xmas catalog, so she's just a model. If you recognize Milla Jovovich when your wife drags you through the MAC store, Milla's a supermodel.

Descriptivism does this to our language. Beats the distinctiveness and meaning out of words so that we have to keep inventing ever more and more superlative words to cover an existing idea.

I was thinking this. I can take my McDonald's cup I threw away last week ... dig it out of the trash ... glue $2,500,000 worth of diamonds on it, but it's still a McDonald's cup. Just because it now needs a security escort, does not make it any more useful or beautiful. Less so, even.

I don't have foobies, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this bra is not remotely comfortable. With all sorts of little sharp things jutting out from under your blouse, it's also ridiculously unsleek and unflattering. Although with all the metal that went into the gem brackets/mounts/prongs/cantthinkoftheword, I'm sure it's super-supportive in an iron-underwear sort of way.
