I'm sure that Tony, as a player, could get tickets to the game.

LMAO, of course he does.

Don't worry, Tony. You won't miss much. I hear it'll just have the same ending as the last one anyway.

Never ever will this occur. Not even just because of him. Dallas can't do it in the amount of time Jerry Jones will give him. Jones is too results now to keep him to much longer.

Maybe the Packers need a backup QB

Sorry, but you're wrong. Jones' ego makes it very hard for him to accept he made a mistake. It's why he kept Wade as long as he did (including delaying firing him until it was too late). He just does not like to admit he is wrong.

Now if he starts going out of his way to say "Tony will be our quarterback for a long time." I recommend Romo find a good realtor.

Sure, but he would probably, get bumped, drop them and [insert name of random NFC/AFC linebacker, defensive lineman, back up safety, special teams coach, video booth operator, pretzel salesman, custodial engineer, 5th grader] would pick them up and take his seat...and his date.

And with that "good D" they lost to an injured Tony Romo and WRs that wouldn't make the squad for 25 of the 32 teams. NFC east is weaker this year than it's been in a long time but I don't think Redskins will run away with it. NFC will still be decided between Green Bay and NO baring any major injuries.

Goddammit I don't have time for this today.

Sounds like your basic QB jibba jabba. I don't see what the big deal is.

After Dallas kicks him to the curb and gets a real quarterback?

2011-10-14 10:59:14 AM
I would expect any NFL QB to say that about their own team. Who wants a QB who says "I don't think we'll ever win a Super Bowl!". even if the team will never win a Super Bowl?

In his defense, Romo does have math on his side. Given an infinite amount of years, it's likely that the Cowboys will win an infinite amount of Super......

....hahahahahaha, I couldn't even get through it. The Cowboys will never win another Super Bowl. Why? Because fark them, that's why.

I'm rooting for Detroit, but I think they're too young and too new at winning. At some point the emotion is going to get the better of them--hopefully it'll come late in the season as a wake up call and not in the playoffs.

grumpygrouper: does anyone want a QB who doesn't at least have the confidence to believe their team is in the running at the start of a new season?

When said quarterback's "confidence" encourages him to consistently throw game-ending interceptions, I'd say that his sunny outlook isn't exactly beneficial to his team.

I like the Lions, don't get me wrong (even if they beat my Cowboys due to Romo's collapse in 2nd half). However, let them put up a playoff win before you count them as contenders. They started the year on fire and I just don't think that a team that young can keep that up for the whole season.

Because they haven't beaten any of the top teams in the NFC yet nor have they won any games in playoffs in years. We're not talking about regular season records here but playoffs where experience does matter.

Shrug. All three teams worry me because of bad running games and fairly suspect defenses, so...

Real question:

Let's say the Cowboys part ways with Romo after this season, who do the Cowboys bring in to replace him?
Do they draft someone? Do they trade for someone? (who would be potentially available anyhow?)

Try being a Jay Cutler hater from back when everyone thought he was the greatest thing ever. What's weird is that as he's gotten to be less of a b*tch over time, more and more people are hating him. He's actually almost tolerable now! I mean, he actually exercised and tried to improve himself this offseason instead of blaming mean ol' Mr. Rivers or crying about his defense not being good enough (Denver - you have a point that they didn't stop much in your losses...but your offense also sucked in your losses, too).

It's annoying hearing his complimentors talk about how "if he just had a great line and great WRs..." though. Yeah, pretty much anyone would be a good QB if they had a great everything else around them. Hell, Mark Sanchez even has two AFCCG appearances in two years!

They're not going to cut Romo but they should draft a QB that can take over in a couple of years. The team has too many holes - o line and secondary - to spend a lot of money on a free agent QB. There are a bunch of QBs in college right now that although are not as NFL ready as Luck but could be picked up and developed. The two I like are Kellen Moore from Boise St and Case Keenum from Houston.

I liked Moore better when he was Tim Couch and Keenum when he was Kevin Kolb. Collegiate system QBs are good in their college systems. I don't think this is the year for the Cowboys to pick up their QB of the future, depending on who comes out. If they can get Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, or RGIII in the 2nd round that might be a good investment.

There's a difference. In the game aginst the Lions, he threw one of the best passes I've ever seen to Devin Hester and it went right off his hands.

I don't say that Jay needs elite players around him. He DOES need competent players. He doesn't have either at receiver or on the line.

Jay is basically surrounded by incompetence. From the embarrassing time outs to get plays called in, to the swiss cheese line, to wide receivers who can't push off the line, run a rout, or catch the damn ball. It's telling that Matt Forte is the best receiver the Bears have.

Add all this up, then consider that Jay is playing for an offensive coordinator who is notorious for getting his QB's hurt with the BEST of personnel.
