IRL was glad to use her to promote their product after they farked themselves over for so long. They actively encouraged her to promote herself as a sex symbol (even though she's not even close to being the hottest driver). Then when she reached her maximum earnings (and essntially talent) potential in open wheel she had the audacity audacity, I say to expand to a larger market in stock cars, she was cast as the black sheep. Make no mistake about it, if Patrick had been a marketing failure, there's no way Simona gets the interest she does no matter how many limbs she burns up.

I don't get the hate towards her. She markets herself well and has never claimed to be a great driver. I watch her commercials with the same interest and credibility I give to the Casey Mears GEICO and Kevin Conway Extenze commercials; who cares? I get the IRL feeling rejected but there has always been an inferiority/superiority issue in regards to NASCAR. The way some folks have ostrocized her she should be eligible for the bonus on Sunday.
