RIP Joel "Taz" DiGregorio

You're solo on "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" will stand the test of time

So bizzare.....actually just met him for the first time this past July at the Red Sky Festival in Omaha. He walked off the bus just spoutin vulgarities, full of p**s & vinegar about how hot it was..too hot to play...no one was gonna come out blah blah blah,,,it was hilarious. Good dude.

RIP Taz

CSB

Charlie Daniels put out a Christmas album a few years back. I was working at a radio station, and joked to a host who was about to interview Charlie, "Did he do 'Santa Went Down to Georgia?'" During the interview the host told Charlie I want to know if he ever was going to record "Santa Went Down to Georgia." Charlie took a long pause and responded, "he a weird guy ain't he?"

So, to sum up, I'd like to use this guys death to point out the Charlie Daniels thinks I'm weird

CDB played 3-ish times in Cheyenne in the early 80's. Met him 3-ish times. Whole band was super friendly. Remember taz because his name was taz.

Remember that story about some emo band that walked off the stage last summer because a bird took a dump on the bass player? Do you think the CDB would miss a gig for such a nonsense reason? Check out the screen cap below of DiGregorio playing a show with a freakin' broken arm. That had to be a biatch for a keyboard player. Bird shiat? Please.

RIP man, you were one of the good ones.

For those of you that only know the redneck, flag waving side of CDB...here they are sounding a little more jam band southern rock than redneck (yes, I know).

That's a stretch of road that is not to be farked with. If there was ever a compromise to safety in the US Interstate system, that is it.

Cold, vicious and utterly incensitive headline.
+1

Not a huge CDB fan, but I can appreciate genuine talent. He was an excellent musician.

Here's a different sort of CDB song: Rainbow Ride (new window)

And another one: Blue Star (new window)
