Karl Rove, you may be a brilliant political strategist, but at the cost of being an awful human being. Shut up.

2011-10-13 02:34:32 PM
Hasn't Karl been an vocal opponent of the Tea Party for a while?

Which is why they don't associate with farktards like Turd Blossom.

Democrats learned early in the 2000s that they could hijack actual protests and turn them from their key causes into "elect Democrats". It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them do the same thing again now. The message will go from "Wall Street is in bed with Politicians" to "Re-Elect Obama" and we'll continue to have more of the same shiat that we've had for the last 30 years.

The tea party files for permits for its rallies and picks up its trash afterwards. Occupy Wall Street tolerates protesters who defecate on police cars, allows the open sale of drugs at protests, and features women walking around rallies topless.

I know Rove loves to spin the hell out of everything, but even in that context that's a really odd dramatic triple there. High-end misdemeanor, felony, and... minor exhibitionism that's in no way illegal in New York?

Maybe Rove has progressed from serious propaganda to straight trolling us with pre-internet internet memes ("murder, arson, and jaywalking")?

Though, to his credit, pretending that Biden was complimenting the OWS people by comparing them to the Tea Party is a stroke of bloody genius from a propaganda standpoint. Muddies the Dem message nicely while leaving his own voice clear. Dude still has it, in a sort of amateur retiree way.

Coming from Rove, shouldn't this have an ironic tag?

2011-10-13 02:39:15 PM
He makes a couple of interesting points but since it's Republican partisan Karl Rove making them the argument is invalid.

2011-10-13 02:39:28 PM
Then shouldn't they get rid of Eric Holder?

2011-10-13 02:39:45 PM
As someone who supports the OWS people, I hope they tell the dems trying to snuggle up to them to fark off.

The dems have one thing going for them: they're not as bad (by quite a long shot) as the republicans.

That does not, however, make them good. Ideally they'd all be thrown out and replaced with honest people who really want to fix things. Since that's not feasible, we have to continue suffering democrats because republicans have basically decided to go completely and utterly insane.

Not sure ignoring them is a good idea, either.

Clear Rovian tactic, accuse the opposition of what embodies your presidential candidates.

Karl Rove did shiat on the teabaggers too... right?

Haven't seen that one before.

The Turner Diaries just pulls the whole thing together.

/I've also read the book* and wow, is it a steaming pile of duck poop.

*It used to be available free online. I have put no money into the author's pocket.

cato113: This advice is coming from from Karl Rove? Was the ironic tag being water boarded?

To be fair, if I'm remembering correctly Rove advised against the whole TP thing initially, he's less changed his mind since than resigned himself to the fact that the GOP already made the mistake and started trying to salvage it for them.

2011-10-13 02:48:36 PM
That's impossible. Crazy people are attracted to politics. That is why apathy is so dangerous. There will always be that base layer of crazy, and if there is no one else to temper it down, you get crazy policy.

do non-kooks even still use the word "kooky"?

The Wall Street Journal thinks it's a bad idea to associate with the Occupy Wall Street crowd? Obviously an opinion based upon empirical thought...

I hear that cows are also against associating with people who eat hamburgers...

They didn't learn that in the 2000's, politicians have always done that.

Hell, the GOP created the tea party, but they lost control of it.

Heh. Well, the president can't do much about associating with wackjobs. Congress holds the purse-strings after all. Obama will have to deal with them sooner or later.

2011-10-13 03:20:37 PM
hopefully the democrats will do just the opposite of what Rove says, and jump right in bed with the ows crowd, snuggle up with them and run their fingers through their dirty hair and tell them that they totally agree with what they're doing.

then when the socialists decide to get violent, the democrats will have to jump out of bed naked and run away.

hehe
