I really don't understand how the brains of these people work (or don't work). He's probably spent a decade screaming "America, fark Yeah" in the fight against the Taliban. He probably talks poorly of Muslims. He is probably one who insists our troops be supported blindly (unless they are gay). Yet, he proudly proclaims to be just like fundamentalist Muslims who are actively fighting and killing our troops and are exactly the people he probably says "hate our freedom." Amazing.

And yes, I do very often see the similarities between the American right wing, religious hard liners and their Muslim world counterparts. They are not, as someone pointed out already, to the same degree of violent, but their ideology otherwise is very similar. Yet they don't recognize that of themselves in the mirror or how much in common they have with some peoples they constantly proclaim as the enemies of America.
