Being in a blockbuster movie may be a measure of success to some, but I fail to see how it is a measure of integrity.

No. Military people are of the highest moral caliber. He was actually part of a sting operation, but since AG Holder was not informed, he had no backing. >:-)

A non-animatronic role in a Transformers movie?

Yeah, sounds like the next logical step, followed by becoming a male crack whore.

Isn't that sort of like asking the jury to consider that the defendant could not have been at the scene of the crime because he was busy porking juror #5's mom?

The article talks about AK-47s and M92s as well (the M-92 is a Serbian variant of the AKS-74 for you non gun nuts). Sounds like he was buying off the locals and smuggling them back on military transports.

It's actually rather common. A of people have souvenirs that they smuggled back in stateside. Most people though don't go full retard and set up a back alley gun shop with them though.

This has always confused me. If the guy is going to be in prison for 125 years, how do they expect him to pay a huge fine?

"The bulk of the prosecution case was based on testimony and facts founded upon statements of drug users, convicted felons, drug addicts and arms smugglers."

He raises a good point. I propose a new rule, whereby all drug dealers, accomplices to felonies, and arms smugglers must be convicted based solely on the testimony of upstanding citizens who have never had any drug, arms, or other illegal dealings with the defendant. In fact, the act of having witnessed the felony in question should be grounds for disqualification of their testimony.

Was Dark of the Moon the only movie he's worked on or something? I'd have to think there are better films to use for a character reference, at least movies that wouldn't destroy one's integrity even by being vaguely associated with them.

I immediately question anything the ATF is involved in, as they tend to sensationalize and distort the truth.

Prosecutors accused Bickle of controlling the sale of military hardware ranging from ammunition to night-vision goggles and high-tech rifle targeting scopes. They made closing arguments to the jury amid an array of AK-47 and M92 machine guns, a sniper rifle, a wheeled footlocker with a false bottom and handguns including Ruger 9mm weapons of the type used by the U.S. military.

1) Every type of rifle/carbine ammunition used by the US military is legal to purchase and possess in the US.
2) Every type of night-vision goggle is legal to purchase and possess in the US.
3) Every type of "high-tech rifle targeting scope" (what, an eotech? lulz) is legal to purchase and possess in the US.
4) M92s and Ak47s are legal to purchase and possess in the US.

The only place he really farked up was with the C-4.

But again, it appears the majority of the prosecution was witnesses who had previously pleaded guilty to something and were pleading down their sentence. Because they have no motivation to lie.

You're an idiot. Most of us complaining about the Bayformer films grew up on Transformers and are the demographic he was trying to get money out of. You think any kids would care about Transformers given the last few series that came out of Japan?

And he wasted no time throwing on jeans and sandals when the uniform didn't work for him.

The article said Bickle's attorney acknowledged that the verdict could lead to a "dishonorable discharge from the Navy." Uh, how so? This is a federal conviction, so the same sovereign can't try him again at a military court-martial for the same offenses. The only way to be dishonorably discharged from the military is by sentence of a general court martial.

Sure, I suppose they could cobble up something that wasn't covered by the civilian conviction. Doubtful, though. GCMs take effort and funding and this guy's already toast. I see a UOTHC administrative discharge in his future to get him off the payroll and out the gate.

I don't know, it could be as entertaining as say A New Hope, which was also a "kids movie" that isn't one protracted special effects sequence. It actually has plotting and character development, plus Darth Vader looks distinctively different than his Stormtrooper goons (and Lucas's cinematographers knew when not to use long shots). And outside of its cultural influence it's rather "meh" as far as movies go.

See, I had low standards already and Bay can't even meet them. I've always compared Transformers to other "kids'" movies.

Keep buying tickets for the same movie remade over and over though, seems to keep you entertained. How deep did you find "I Am Number Four"?
