What city does he get to be the mayor of?

Chief of Staff to President Obama is hopeful of President Obama's re-election. News at 11.

2011-10-12 01:55:45 PM
You sound concerned.

2011-10-12 01:56:04 PM
Well, Subby, it seems you don't know that it's common for White House Chief of Staffs to only hold the position for 1-3 years. See for yourself. But that's not why this got insta-greened, now is it?

/Chief of Staves?

I'm aware Obama will be re-elected. Watch the Republican debates and you will be aware too subby.

2011-10-12 01:57:59 PM
Nope. I'm pretty sure we all know the GOP field is full of loonies, and even if they go with Romney, the base isn't voting for him any more enthusiastically than they did for JohnnyMac.

I plan to switch jobs at the end of the month. Clearly, it's because I know a terrible secret and not because I have my eyes on another goal.

The only way subby could be more paranoid is if zombie Layne Staley became the new WH chief of staff - I mean try to wrap your head around the implications of a chief of staff with a surname that rhymed with the former WH chief of staff's surname... plus he's a zombie which kinda sounds like Obambie

No, he knows something we all know, that he'll make a lot more money as a lobbyist.

Nebulious: /Chief of Staves?

Chiefs of Staff.

/Probably the 2nd or 3rd hardest job in the country.

2011-10-12 02:14:29 PM
Subby, it looks like he has been watching those farcical debates and made a conclusion as to next year's election results.

Oh, right. Duh. Man, I now I wish I was a Chief of Staves. Sounds like some kind of awesome wizard.

In other news, Bill Daley doesn't want to be part of the Obama transition team.

2011-10-12 02:20:19 PM
And about half the Cabinet will head out as well. Happens to everybody.

Does he know something we don't know?

Of course he knows something we don't know. The real question is: what does he know that we should know but we don't know? Got it?

2011-10-12 02:33:04 PM
I thought everyone knew that?

In other news, people think the stability of White House staff from The West Wing is common.

I'm not sure why he was in the job in the first place. Wasn't anyone from Goldman Sachs available when the position opened up?

I'm sure Obama will fix that error immediately upon reelection.

The total tonnage of things Daley knows that the Washington Times doesn't could stun a team of oxen in its tracks.

Daley has been a big factor in the presidency of appeasement. Is it possible, perhaps, that Obama may try to serve his second term as, dare I say it...a progressive?

2011-10-12 03:07:11 PM
He's been horrible. He doesn't have the drive that Rahm did, especially on progressive issues. I think he underestimated how divided congress is, and how irrational the Republicans are. Obama needs a fighter. Obama himself is too willing to compromise and be diplomatic, so he needs somebody to counter balance that.

THIS.

Do you expect republicans to pay attention? Nope. But they will pay for hot mansex in a motel.

They burn out really quickly, no matter what party they come from.

Also: why in the hell do Moonie Times articles keep getting green-lit?

If there's a more viable and/or likely winner in 2012 I'd like to hear who it is.

Oh I see a certain troll is back. Do you seriously think Bachmann or any of the idiots the GOP has vomited out are going to be president? How much of the flavor-aid have you drunk?

Anyways don't these guys leave pretty regularly? I would imagine it's a very stressful job and you'd get burnt out quick.

Every one to three years, on average. I imagine it's a very stressful job and by the time they're ready to go they have all sorts of job offers on the table. It would be more shocking if he decided to quit before the election IMO.

Now that you mention it, I am disappointed by Obama's performance this past 4 years. I really think we'd fare better under the leadership of a guy who hasn't held a job for 4+ years, or a woman who thinks stop lights are a socialist plot, or a guy who based his economic policy on one of his old pizza chain's commercials, or a Texas governor even dumber than Dubya.

Does that sound ludicrous? Ridiculous? Impossible?

But, a majority of the people who voted for Obama in '08 will have that sentiment for real?

Yeah. Second term. BOHICA, biatch.
