(Some Guy) Florida Apparently, the idea of getting naked and trying to rob a state trooper with a bow and arrow hasn't gotten old in Pensacola   (wtsp.com) divider line 22

Bow and arrow? I've never heard one called THAT before!

Hey that was right down the street from where I lived. In fact I spent time on the street mowing a yard 2 house down from that house in question.

Small world and all.

Big question: Was the bow notched? If so, yeah, that's a shooting. If not, that's sort of unprovoked. It's not like a gun, you can tell exactly when someone is about to launch an arrow.

Approves.

Having lived in P'cola off and on for 5 years, this is hardly surprising. Even less surprising that an Escambia County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a suspect. Happens a lot in that area.

Fixed that for you.

*Technically, the bow is nocked, because it has string nocks on it. I think you mean an arrow nocked. Yeah, I'm an archery pedant.

Getting naked around cops never ends well...

The story is about an aux. Florida State Trooper. Are you referring to different shooting involving a different agency?

So, is a non-nocked bow naked? If so, maybe the naked nucklehead got knocked off in the neck knacking about with a nocked or naked bow.

Oh come the fark on man. Everyone from the Gulf Coast knows you either die by hurricane, twister, or getting pulled over for a farking busted tail light.
Shoot first, fist second, ask a bible beatin judge to sort it out later.

So did he get nude because she was nude? It says she came out of the shower. Seems like a lot of nudity in this story. And did the 9-year-old see any of the nudity? Especially his mom's? Cause that would freak me the f*ck out for life. Please think of the children.

The5thElement: I don't know exactly where YOU lived in Pensacola, but the neighborhood in question is a nice middle-class place that's very gentrified and has a very, very low crime rate.

Now if it were in Bellview, Warrington, Montclair, Ensley, or some other neighborhoods in the west of P'cola, yeah, I can totally see it. But crimes like that on the east side are not common.

I'm confused about this. He just decided that it was a good time to take off his clothes? What am I missing here?

Your comment is even more confusing than the5thelement's. The greenlit story is about a state trooper. His comment is about a county deputy. I simply asked what he was referring to (or if he just didn't read the story.)

Your comment.... I just don't know. Am I in the wrong thread or sumthin"?

My error. I am used to stories about Escambia County deputies shooting suspects. Just got mixed up. When I was there in the 90's, I knew of a deputy with 11 years on the job and 3 shootings, 2 that were fatal which included 1 in the back of the head of an unarmed fleeing suspect. They have a well deserved reputation of being trigger happy. Naturally, most are fully justified, but some make you wonder.

Well it started with him walking into her house uninvited so I'm guessing he was out of his mind somehow. Or there is a history here between the two neighbors that hasn't been brought forward.

Also, what is an auxiliary state trooper in FL? I'm familiar with auxiliary local police from my home town, which were cop wannabes that got a little work every year for 4th of July parades and things like that but weren't anything close to full time.
