Romney might be the worst GOP presidential candidate (I think he is going to win the primary) I have been alive to witness.

I'd be tempted to vote for him, if he hadn't moved so far to the right on so many things recently. As it is, I'm pretty much looking at voting for Obama. I'd really like a viable 3rd-party candidate, since the Republicans have derped it up.

My favorite quote about Mitt Romney (who I am not all that opposed to) comes from Ted Kennedy when Romney ran against him for his Senate seat. Kennedy said (and I might be paraphrasing a bit): "Mitt Romney isn't pro-choice or anti-choice. He is multiple choice."

The astounding thing about Mitt Romney is he can hold up to 16 contradictory ideas in his mind at the same time without suffering a breakdown.

Romney is an ass in elephant's clothing.

Any republican who votes for him should be ashamed of themselves.

If he even gets to the point where Obama can say "Mitt, we talked to *your* advisers crafting this legislation" he might make Mondale look like a winner.

At least the GOP is going to get an opportunity to find out what it's like to have a John Kerry going to bat for you.

Also-ran moderate Mormon flip-flopper who insists that corporations are people? They'll stay home in droves.

Endrick: Mitt Romney Haunted By Past Of Trying To Help Uninsured Sick People (new window)

You know after Bush and then McCain/Palin you keep thinking that the GOP can't sink any lower without becoming a parody of themselves. And now we have a primary contest that reads like a series of Onion articles: the guy that is being attacked because he successfully helped poor and low income people not be sick, another guy who crows about executing innocent people trying to show how strong a leader he is, the next one wants to have the local manager of Pizza Hut as his VP, etc.

A few years ago I would have cheered on a Obama/Romney ticket. Course I said the same thing about Obama/McCain 6 years ago. Republican handlers, its like they have the touch of Cain or something.

You can safely vote for him, it's not like he actually means any of it. It's like that crap Obama was blowing up the voters' skirts during his campaign about bipartisanship and reaching out and blah blah blah.

Obama is, if anything, TOO bipartisan. He's near centrist about most things to begin with, and he's willing to bend over backwards to meet the Republicans in the middle - they just keep moving the goalposts, and he keeps bending over to reach them.

=====================================================

Normally he'd be a shoo-in, but he's a mormon who used to be in charge of massachusetts.

Even if he wins the primary (which is looking likely, but you never know with the derpy republicans)... I have a feeling a LOT of republicans will be upset with the pick (especially evangelicals) and it won't go over well.

I can't take Rep. Bachmann as a serious candidate for POTUS.
Which means -- Gov. Perry, Gov. Romney or Herman Cain

Now which one of these folks wouldn't get crushed by incumbent-President Obama?

Perhaps that particular poster was just trolling, but on another message board I'm on - and not an ultra-conservative blog or something like that, but a board that's mostly used by members of my profession to discuss the testing and other requirements of our job, with a side board to discuss politics on - Obama is treated like a far-left nutcase that's absolutely sure to lose in the coming election.

HellRaisingHoosier: Are they Rommunists?

Nothing but the most vicious and vile wannabe conservatives on the planet, those Rommunists. Mitt Romney is the most monstrous and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face...until Obama tries to get re-elected.
