Are you upset they left out the shopping mall?

Is that a freakin' peace symbol above the museum of weaponry? Is that supposed to suggest something about the duality of Asgardians (new window, nsfw verbiage)?

PMG: A trailer is used to bring the audiences to the movie itself. It does that by conveying a feel for the movie in question.

Cause, yeah, a song with the refrain "We're in this together now" has nothing to do with a crew of people used to working solo learning to be a team...

Whattya want? Them to re-use Carmina Burana for the billionth time? Or recycle the score to Stargate or ID4 a few more times? Maybe Orff's The Planets, and get confused with Williams' score for Star Wars?

It's too expensive to orchestrate, record, and produce a score for a trailer, so they use music from the radio. It's simple, cheap, and effective.

Now -1/10, and still for stupidity.

Looks interesting so far. Scarlett Johansson is the weak link in all of this. She's pretty as hell, but her acting stinks.

Son of Thunder: Yeah, I watched that, but that was Dubya-Dubya-Two! Every Marvel zombie knows that Cap went bullet-free as soon as he thawed.

The one time he violated that, it was in an extreme circumstance, and tore him up something terrible.

Killing aliens doesn't count.
Also, since Brubaker's been writing Cap he doesn't exactly shed any tears when some AIM agents or whoever get bumpred off.

ClintBartonWannabe: TheHopeDiamond: shiatty music. Bad choice.

But it's better than the music for the cartoon intro. To some people at least. Me, I'm enjoying the music for both.

/How about the heroic music in Monty Python and the Holy Grail when Arthur is galloping across England?
//It was on IFC this morning.

That was actually a stock track by DeWolfe music, since they didn't have the budget to get a composer. You used to be able to buy it for your own use, but it's no longer available - I'm thinking the remaining Pythons finally sewed up the rights.

Link (new window)

Son of Thunder: Wait a second...

Is Cap shooting a gun?

I don't see any ULTIMATUM agents in that trailer!

Yeah. Hes a soldier, he shoots people sometimes. Thats one thing marvel has always had over dc, yeah spiderman has his whole "with great power..." ethos, but marvel heros, by and large, will take someone out if they need to.

Thwack: ThisNameSux: Loki is the only bad guy? Thor kicked his ass all by himself, how does he pose a threat to the entire farking team?

I thought it was a popular and well known fact that it's Loki and the Skrulls as the villains.

I've also heard the possibility that they're technically not Skrulls, but members of Thanos's army. Loki approaches Thanos, saying "Hey, if you give me an army to find a cosmic cube, I'll help you get the infinity gauntlet", giving Thanos a lead-in for Avengers 2.

*Tch* Bless!

You're fun buttercup! Fun in a laughing at way, though, not a laughing with way.

Yes petal, I heard the refrain. Maybe you missed the part I mentioned earlier (you're making a habit of that!) where I mentioned it sounded like crying? And you think that's powerful?

Let's just agree to disagree, eh? Otherwise we'll be jibing at each other for hours, and surely we both have better things to do with our lives?

Could be good or it could suck. "The Expendables" looked like it would be awesome but it just didn't work. Fast Five looked retarded and it turned out to be the best action movie in a long time. I'm not a huge fan of comic book movies, so if anything, at least they're keeping all this crap contained to one film. I'll probably check it out...there's a good chance it'll be a cluster fark, but i like Downey Jr.

Just my impression. I'm sitting there ALL the way in the back on a particular crowd scene, while he's been walking through the crowd. We get to the end of the shot and he has to hold position while he's right next to me. It's taking a really long time because the next shot is this bizarre receding crane shot; like "45 minutes standing and kneeling in the same place"long. So he and the assistant DP and I start up a conversation about weird crap we've seen on sets. 5 minutes into the conversation and it's not like "here's an extra, the ADP, and the talent standing around", it was like sitting around a pub table sharing "no shiat, there I was" stories.

He was just cool about it. Not to mention he was a gentleman about repeatedly driving his crotch into a kneeling woman's face at the end of the previous shot (which was out of frame - it was just the way he ended up hitting his mark walking through a kneeling crowd). ;)

It's a stupid rule sometimes. For example, if, say, Mr. Hyde intends to detonate fuel tankers in the NYC harbor and cause a firestorm that might destroy the city, and you have to kill him to stop him, would you not just pokerize the mofo right there and wash your hands of it? It makes no sense to have this as a hard and fast rule.

Some farking epic Cap issues right there. John Byrne art. Josef Rubinstein inking. The whole "Captain America For President" thing. Too bad they only stuck around for about 9 issues.

As for the trailer, the Hulk already looks better than any of the other two movies. Actually looks like Ruffalo.

Looks awesome.

I've enjoyed all the individual movies that set up for this (possible exception: Iron Man 2. Kinda weak).

I thought this whole project was ludicrous when it was hinted at years ago. And now they may actually pull it off. Every major Avenger getting a good movie to lead into one uber-film? It's bananas.

Barbigazi: No YOU'RE a Towel: Which reminds me, I need to see Thor and Captain America soon.

You could probably skip Thor. It's just a really long mentos commercial.

It's not great, but it has plenty of Agent Coulson, and Hemsworth freaking owns the part. (Also, it has Kat Dennings goodness all over it.)

Raug the Dwarf: unicron702:

Isn't Hulk considered the most powerful character in the Marvel universe short of omnipotent beings? I remember reading his strength and resistance to harm technically has no limits if you get him angry enough.

Like someone mentioned above, depends on the writer. He could punch Galactus in the face or crack a planet in half at his strongest. There was a series, I can't remember if it was in an Incredible Hulk or some special comic where it was said that Hulk was an Avatar. He represented Rage. Like Juggernaut is the Unstoppable Force, like Pheonix is rebirth.

Whether that's canon or not, I'm not sure. But He is one of the strongest in the MU, yeah.

Come to think of it, has The Hulk ever gone up against Squirrel Girl>?

I think its interesting how little Kat Dennings's considerable...assets are exploited in most of her roles. They don't put her in tight fitting shirts or low-cut anything or bikinis much. Kinda surprising, since she's shown she's willing to get naked (Or at least take naked pics of herself and let them get out).

I don't think we have to worry about marvel pulling a 'truth justice and all that stuff'

I mean they did the entire "hail hydra! Cut off one limb, and two more shall take its place!" line in Cap. I'm pretty sure the movie will have "Avengers Assemble!"
