They did. Watch the trailer again and this time watch it to the end.

So who wins in a fight between...

Thor
Iron Man
Captain America
Hulk

She would.

//I'm still waiting for a Squirrel Girl movie. I would love to see a Squirrel Girl Iron Man scene after the credits of Iron Man 3 or the Avengers movie.

I think she would make more sense in the new Wolverine movie being made.

Is Cap shooting a gun?

I don't see any ULTIMATUM agents in that trailer!

Shrugging Atlas: Jim from Saint Paul: Shrugging Atlas: Should I know who the villain is based off that trailer?

Not all of them I would guess.

Loki for sure. You would hope something/someone else bigger and meaner as well.

Was that Loki doing the voiceover at the beginning? I couldn't really tell.

And yeah, I have a hard time seeing Loki carry an entire film. Then again, with 6 Avengers already sharing screen time, I'm not sure how you squeeze in more bad guys unless this is going to be 3+ hours.

while the details aren't exactly confirmed, Loki is not alone... where ever he's been he has brought an army with him.

And there are some big level spoilers (unconfirmed) about just whose army it is.

Loki will have an army of aliens at his back. This will be an alien invasion movie.

Yea I caught it. Like I said I was worried they weren't going to show CG Hulk since a bunch of people criticized him in the other two movies (personally I loved Norton's Hulk and thought the CG looked perfect, you know for a 15 foot, 2 ton green behemoth).

Oh!

Hello!

Let me pull up a chair and we'll talk.

There we go.

I'd like to talk about music in films, if I may.

We've all just watched the trailer to the Avengers, a superhero movie. Now, one notable aspect of the entire superhero genre is the theme of finding the courage to stand up and fight against evil despite the usually overwhelming odds. The key word there is courage.

Appropriately, any trailer for a movie of this genre should communicate a sense of boldness and courage, and the best way of doing so is through the use of music. This is why so many movies and their trailers use soul-stirring orchestral themes - they get the blood thumping and get the viewer excited to see the protagonist do what they do best.

On the flip side, what they should stay from is whiney cock-rock that sounds like somebody crying that will sound horribly dated in a few scant months.

Thanks for your time! I'll see myself out.

2011-10-11 02:39:32 PM
Well DC, it'll be 7 - 10 years before you can get a good Justice League movie off the ground and now the bars been set pretty high.

I'm not going to be some stereotypical nerd who'll rage against the previous movies (like SOME on here ~NERDS!), I enjoyed them. Cap more than Thor and Iron Man more than Cap, but for this...
THIS...

FARK YA!

I haven't stood in line for a movie since Phantom Menace, but I'll be waiting for this one.

PMG: On the flip side, what they should stay from is whiney cock-rock that sounds like somebody crying that will sound horribly dated in a few scant months.
.

*raises hand*

But professor, what about whiney cock-rock that already sounds dated and trite? Won't people think you're just reusing music from the 1998 Godzilla movie, thereby tainting your movie as a cheap money grab with no soul?

Apparently, you are unaware that the score is one of the *last* things produced for a film.

Either that, or you're trolling.

Either way, 1/10 for stupidity...

But it's better than the music for the cartoon intro. To some people at least. Me, I'm enjoying the music for both.

That's easy. The goddam Batman wins.

Also, who wins a slap fight between Black Widow and Hawkeye?

Widow would seduce Hawkeye, intercourse his brains out, and then kill Hawkeye as he slept contentedly, which is how I want to die btw...

I thought that Thanos was supposed to be the bad guy in this, but I am wayyyy out of the nerd loop these days.

Ha!

*Pinches cheek*

Adorable!

*Sigh* Ah, but no.

If you take quick look back at my comment - indeed, even that part you yourself quoted, you will see that I was commenting on the music used in the trailer. This trailer. The Avengers trailer. The one... we all just watched? Yes? You remember that? With the music?

While it is indeed true and well known that the score for the movie is one of the last things produced for the film I suspect it's a safe bet that the score for the trailer has been produced by the time you.... hear it...

A trailer is used to bring the audiences to the movie itself. It does that by conveying a feel for the movie in question. So even though the score for the finished product may indeed still be a work in progress, the score for the trailer should give the viewer some idea of what's in store for them. Which brings me back to my previous comment re: whiny cock-rock.

But thanks for your input! Two thumbs up big guy!

Word around the nerdery is that Thanos is supposed to be in the second one. Thor 2, IM3, Cap2 and, from what I understand The Pym's movie are supposed to set up Infinity Guantlet. Speculation at this point, but dear god, I sincerely hope so.

I thought it was well known what the plot for the avengers movie is. At first Loki Tricks Thor into fighting the Hulk. The rest of the avengers help stop that fight and Banner is able to control the Hulk through Stark tech. Then Loki and the Skrull's invade the earth and the Avengers are assembled to face this new threat.

Also, I don't understand all of the hate for the Thor movie, I thought it was really entertaining and well worth the money.

Snapper Carr: Iron Man is basically the Batman of Marvel. If he has time to prepare, smart money's always on him.

It's kind of funny that Batman has used Iron Man-type bat-suits in the past for special occasions, but after the big emergency is over, he just goes back to the normal costume.

He's like, "Nope, not for me. The rocket boots and laser cannons are fine, I guess. But I'd really rather just glide around with my cape and pummel the shiat of bad guys with my bare hands."

Plus Bats doesn't need that kind of firepower. Not a lot of world domination types in Gotham - more of your standard street level thugs with the occasional genius but low-tech psychopath. Repulsor beams on the Riddler would be serious overkill

I know I'll get junk-punched by Hulk for this, but Skrulls? REALLY?

I've never been able to take the Skrulls seriously. Not in the Fantastic Four, not in the Kree-Skrull war, not in the coda to Civil War. To me, they're the worst villains in the Marvel universe.

I mean, c'mon, COWS? Fricken COWS? Puhleeze.

SuperJonnyC: Also, I don't understand all of the hate for the Thor movie, I thought it was really entertaining and well worth the money.

It wasn't bad. It wasn't spectacular, some of the scenes dragged, too many characters were introduced, etc. Standard complaints for this sort of thing, really. The direction, from top to bottom, was excellent on the other hand. The characters felt believable, and the action managed to feel more comic-book than any other "comic book" movie without coming off as silly.

I loved The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heros cartoon, so I have a feeling I am going to be disappointed by the movie, but I also enjoyed all the Individual Avenger movies (havent seen Thor yet). Hopefully it is good, Im sure Ill go see it the first weekend it comes out.

Dude, anything is better than Catwoman, k? So Thor and Cap automatically get a pass.

Hell, most of Marvel's movies get a pass in my book, and only because they seem to make the effort for you to care about the characters.

DC? Other than Nolan's Batman, it's been epic fail after epic fail.

Yeah, I watched that, but that was Dubya-Dubya-Two! Every Marvel zombie knows that Cap went bullet-free as soon as he thawed.

The one time he violated that, it was in an extreme circumstance, and tore him up something terrible.

After the Social Network score, I'm curious to see what he and Atticus Ross come up with for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He's really becoming David Fincher's go to guy.
