(WorldNetDaily) Spiffy WorldNetDaily says that "Herman Cain is for real." Of course, they said the same thing about Bigfoot, and they claimed that both Bill Clinton AND Barack Obama were the Anti-Christ   (wnd.com) divider line 89

I think Bigfoot has the better economic plan.

The thing is, compared to the rest of the Republican field, he sort of is. That's how far the right has fallen. When he said he wouldn't sign a bill longer than 3 pages, he was just saying what the bulk of the right wing seem to think... if it won't fit on a bumper sticker, it can't be good

At least as long ago as March, 2008, according to Snopes (new window).

I thought Palin was the One. That Perry was going to save them. That Bachmann was for Reals. That McCain was going to take them ALL THE WAY!

Why in the 10,000 Hells should I believe anything these idiots think?

There's normal conservative (someone like yourself), and then there's WND 'conservative' (someone like my father). I'd have more respect for the operator(s) of the site if I found out they were just riling up the rubes in order to make money, and not actually believing any of the tripe that gets posted.

They do have a store and are constantly promoting various books for sale, so I'm hoping that's the case. I mean, inflaming the ignorant for profit isn't exactly a nice thing to do - but at least it's a SMART thing to do. I can respect that on some level.

You'll have to buy their book to find out.

Especially if you get Rick Perry or Michelle Bachmann as the Republican nominee.

Or, heavens forbid, you get them both.

Herman Cain calls his economic plan 9 - 9 - 9.
9 - 9 - 9 spoken aloud translates to no - no - no in German.
Herman Cains economic plan is a coded message of no no no.
No no no means his actual goal is to destroy the American economy.
Hitler was German (ok, Austrian, but work with me here).

The only reasonable conclusion? HERMAN CAIN IS HITLER!!!

/hopes he can get a job writing for WND.

Peter von Nostrand: The thing is, compared to the rest of the Republican field, he sort of is. That's how far the right has fallen.

Yea, that just shows how depressing the right is nowadays.

'So, what makes Cain a viable candidate out of all the other GOPers?'

'Well, he's not totally f*cking crazy.'

Hell, Cain is smart and would represent some diversity in the GOP. But so long as the rank and file regard science and intellectuals with disdain and Cain supports a de facto religious test for his cabinet its hard to regard him with anything other than derision.

They were talking about corporate taxes and corporate profit repatriation taxes. The 0-0-0 plan somehow fails to mention payroll taxes or personal income taxes.

To be fair, Bill Clinton was the Antichrist. He retired and handed over the title to Obama. I fully expect Obama to follow in Clinton's footsteps and do the same when the next Democratic President is elected.

To be fair, that's the least insane statement I have seen on WND so far. Unless they start arguing that Cain is literally Jesus or some super angel.

/Also BUY MY BOOK

2011-10-08 07:41:28 PM
I see absolutely no reason why Cain shouldn't be the GOP nominee. He adheres to every litmus test for modern regressives. Hates Muslims, hates gays, worships laissez-faire capitalism, blind to corporate malfeasance and government corruption, views democracy as oppressive, shallow thinker, refuses to learn anything from the mistakes of the past, blames the poor for everything, has no plans for improving our situation that go beyond taxing the rich less and the poor more. And he's a businessman instead of a career politician. What else could they possibly want?

So he's black, big deal. Racists are willing to accept individual members from a hated race as long as they say the right things.

2011-10-08 07:44:47 PM
Regardless of anything else, I will never support a Herman Cain candidacy or presidency on the simple grounds that, as an Italian-American, I find Godfather's Pizza's entire schtick (pizza = Italian = Mafia) deeply offensive. My family -- which has lost several members for refusing to associate or deal with mafiosos* -- has always and will always boycott Godfather's Pizza or any other company than engages in hateful stereotypes of Italian-Americans.

* My great-grandfather was murdered by mafiosi for refusing to allow them to use his New Jersey shoe-repair shop as a message exchange.

Just out of curiosity, does the 9 in the 9-9-9 plan for sales tax include wholesale prices? You could probably raise some revenue that way when Boeing buys jet engines...

2011-10-08 07:52:33 PM
I guess Cain's knowledge of pizza business will mean he can get the USA out of debt. FauxNews & CNN definitely think so eh.

I wonder if it includes sales of stocks and bonds.
