It's a bit like searching for WMDs in Iraq, isn't it? Never ending, ever hoping...

This sounds like a job for SUPER DUBYA!
2003-09-25 12:56:36 PM

When Mars was closest to the earth recently I heard a rumor that there was a jump in aliens impregnating women. Maybe they were just thirsty and got distracted.
2003-09-25 05:14:08 PM
This is why I keep a large glass of water next to my bed at night.
2003-09-25 05:14:53 PM
And where there's water there's................

go with this one.

Still no cure for Cancer or trolling liberals.

As cold as mars is, they should really be looking for ice, not water.

Why do we just concentrate on Mars ? Hell, if it wa possible, I'd like to live on Saturn. Imagine watching all those ice rings circling the planet.

I agree with someone from another Mars thread, why not spend even more time exploring the Earth's ocean; it is 3/4ths of the earth's surface.

Forget Mars, start looking at Jupiter's moons
2003-09-25 05:23:07 PM
What exactly is "Nougat"?

I've heard of Nookie and Nugget, is this the bastard child of such a union?
2003-09-25 05:24:52 PM
The big question is, can we bottle the stuff and sell it for big bucks?
2003-09-25 05:25:01 PM
"What exactly is "Nougat"?

It's like marzipan...wait a minute, I don't know what that sheiat is either.

2003-09-25 05:25:09 PM
I already drank it all so you can stop looking.
2003-09-25 05:26:34 PM
Is Arnold still looking for Blue Skies on Mars?
2003-09-25 05:26:37 PM
If your into this sort of news then:

The search for a cure for HIV continues

The search for Osama continues

The search for who killed Kennedy continues

They still don't know why gravity gravitates

No one ever found Jimmy Hoffa

Quantum physics is weird

And it's a mystery why we're here

Is Arnold still looking for Blue Skies on Mars?

Didn't the USGS just issue a Tsunami watch for Mars? There must be water there.

I know Bush will sooner or later find the Martian WMD...I just know it...
2003-09-25 05:34:49 PM
According to Ahhnold , the core of Mars is solid ice! All we have to do is activate the big melting thing , and Mars will have an atmosphere in like 2 minutes!

2003-09-25 05:40:25 PM
I bet if it was bourbon up there, W. would have already found it.
2003-09-25 05:40:49 PM
I don't care what you say, I'm not living on Uranus.
2003-09-25 05:43:46 PM
I was under the impression they'd already found water there... frozen at least.
2003-09-25 05:46:33 PM
Me too, AcadianSidhe. I thought I read about them discovering ice there a year ago.
2003-09-25 05:50:29 PM
Are you troubled that you have heard of nookie and nugget, is this the bastard child of such a union?

Do you wish to be able to know what that sheiat is either?
2003-09-25 05:55:26 PM
May 28, 2002: Using instruments on NASA's 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft, surprised scientists have found enormous quantities of buried treasure lying just under the surface of Mars -- enough water ice to fill Lake Michigan twice over. And that may be only the tip of the iceberg.

It's the international sign of the donut!
2003-09-25 06:10:54 PM
If was fat ugly trailer trash whores on Mars, Clinton woulda found it.

(obligatory after the bush comment)
2003-09-25 06:16:08 PM
Damn. This just keeps getting more and more disappointing. First we expected little green men, then we were hopeful about dogs and monkeys, then we were begging to even find some plants, then we got all excited at the possibility of goddamn microbes. Now, we're praying we'll find even a drop of water. In 2010, we're going to discover Mars is just an image projected onto the sky by a guy named Larry in Illinois.

marzipan is primarily almond paste and sugar.

they're looking for evidence of rust. Hmmmmm. Why don't they just send up a shiney new nail, and monitor it with a camera to see if it rusts?

What most people don't realize is that water on Mars is in freeze dried form......
2003-09-25 08:26:59 PM
yeah, like it's the CO2 freeze dried form.
2003-09-25 08:47:02 PM
De-hydrated water! Sa-weet! 12 kilos please.
2003-09-25 08:50:42 PM
"As cold as mars is, they should really be looking for ice, not water."

Already found in the poles and on the ground on frosty mornings.

You have to look beneath the surface or at the bottom of the great martian canyon where the air pressure is greater to find some liquid water.
2003-09-25 09:06:18 PM
duh, stupid question. is Mars closer to the sun than Earth, or the other way around?
2003-09-25 10:26:58 PM
Water on Mars? Not sure but you can bet that it is always damp around Uranus.

"Identification of the mineral hematite without the presence of ilmenite is possible evidence for aqueous processes," Klingelhfer says. "Identification of ilmenite by itself or with hematite is possible evidence for igneous (non-aqueous) processes."

My head hurts.

WTF is this stuff? Why don't they send a frikin probe and poke this?
2003-09-26 01:02:54 AM
O.K. that was a bit too big to post, jeez, here, what's this white stuff?
