oh, and as for "big darn deals," how about teasing the press and the public for more than a year with coy tweets, a campaign-like bus tour, shiatloads of media appearances and a constant appeal for money from her cultish followers?

Jeez man. What's your life like? That's completely normal, average, working-class behavior.

Your vacations must be dreadfully boring.

what, exactly, do they love about her? i'm curious, because most people think she's an appalling attention whore who has no business running a game of monopoly, let alone the united states of america.

From a post on Sarah's FB page last night (I was bored and wanted to see the meltdown from her followers): "This makes me sad, Sarah. America's hope of not being destroyed died when you decided not to run."

Lulz.

She didn't want to make a 'big darn deal' over her choice to run or not, so instead of always saying she wasn't going to run when asked, she drove around the country being a media whore at all the presidential events, or hanging around the place all stalker like.

Since she has finally settled the fact that she is not running, can she please be ignored by the media? Please?

And as I understand it, Christie wasn't even in the running until people kept flinging the idea around enough for him to finally address it.

Not every two-bit grifter gets to rake in the cash from book deals, reality shows and nationwide bus tours, all by telling the rubes what they want to hear and charging a pretty penny for the favor. I'd say she's pretty happy with the way things turned out.

Obama quit the job his state elected him to do also - and for the same reason as Palin.

Just let it go, people.

Gov. Palin was the only person that could save this country from the Godless cowards of the Democratic party. She makes me and my wife feel like we could do something to keep this country from the liberals trying to destroy it. Now I have no idea who I'll vote for, but I know it sure as heck won't be that New England flip flopper.

2011-10-06 01:14:03 PM
She must have made all the money she needs, because this is going to crush her future earnings potential. Her perfect outcome was winning the nomination and losing to Obama - she would have been worth $10M/year easy in that scenario.

She obviously doesn't want a hard job - she must actually think she could win, otherwise she would run.

This, but I do appreciate submitter pointing out, yet again, that the same dipshiat some really stupid people thought would make a great president couldn't even be bothered to finish up an entire term as the governor of Alaska.

So people need to stop farking referring to her as "Governor Palin." She's not the governor. When you quit halfway through because being governor doesn't pay as good as being a mercenary attention whore, you don't get to use the title anymore.

THIS

Palin was never going to run for president, because she's a joke. A small percentage of swivel-eyed loons absolutely love her, but that doesn't win you the election. And I suspect she knew that. But having that "presidential material" tag sells a lot of books and advertising on Fox to swivel-eyed loons.

She's probably hoping for a democratic victory. It would mean that she could do another pretend standing for president again.

and why are they unsustainable? because the state is losing revenue because of lost jobs. they were fine before the economic downturn. but instead of everyone sacrificing the state employees will have to shoulder the burden alone. mostly teachers.

Granted. my knowledge the Christie's news conference came from The Daily Show, but wasn't it to talk something else and the reporters wouldn't stop asking him about running, regardless of how many times he said no?

2011-10-06 01:22:26 PM
It was pretty obvious she wasn't going to run, you had to know she'd take the option of making way more money for way less work. Running for president is hard work. Being president is really really hard work. If she preferred making money for not a lot of work preferable to being governor of Alaska, there was no way in hell she was going to actually run for president.

what_now: The last great thing Steve Jobs accomplished- he pushed this ditzy broad off the newscyle.

Fox was on one of the TVs at my gym last night. They broke into the last 5 minutes of O'Reilly's show to cover Steve Jobs, carried the story into the first couple minutes of the hour then the coverage was full "Sarah Palin not going to run for president" until I left.

So, if you were watching Fox, Sarah Palin's "news" actually pushed Jobs out of coverage.
