(Some Guy) Interesting Obama has the same poll disapproval rating among Americans as Vladimir Putin. Yeah, but how would Putin do in the swing states?   (investors.com) divider line 35

After looking at that picture, I feel like I've been eye-f*cked by Vladamir Putin.

2011-10-06 10:00:44 AM
Vladimir Putin picked me up at 7:00 p.m. in a black Escalade and regaled me with stories of the Cold War as we sped through an underground tunnel in Moscow. In seemingly no time, we were at his palatial mansion on the Baltic Sea. He prepared me dinner, shirtless. I was so hungry. He had set out dozens of platters. After hours of cooking he emerged with a single plate of tapas: tiny sea scallops, perfectly seared. They must have been some kind of exotic scallop because they were purple. He stared into my eyes. It was getting uncomfortable.

It was then that I noticed there was a wedding taking place out on the beach. When I asked him about it, he said that he allowed weddings on his property to offset the costs of upkeep.

If I remember correctly Putin has a crazy hot daughter. Quick GIS didn't turn up many recent photos though.

Can someone explain this statement to me?

"Obama has already lost the election. The Republicans just haven't won yet."

I've been trying to wade through the derp, but I just can't wrap my head around it.

Were the current crop of leading GOP candidates not a complete and utter mess, I'd be inclined to agree from the "it's theirs to lose" perspective, based on Obama's approval ratings (but it's still far to early in the election cycle to say).

As it stands their frontrunners are:

"Token black guy who thinks there is a pizza analogy for every government policy"

"Supermormon McUltracapitalist who will give you the right answer just tell him what to say"

and "Senile old man who wants to revert back to using bumblebee nickels to buy gasoline".

The list just gets worse from there. So unless they decide to tell the fundies to STFU, GTFO, and prop up Huntsman as their nominee, I honestly think the GOP has a snowball's chance in hell of winning. And even then Huntsman doesn't have a great stage presence during the debates (which is a shame since he is the most sane of the bunch).

Huntsman might do better if the moderators weren't so focused on the Romney/Perry debates with some other people on stage for some reason.

Its kind of like saying that the Astros are going to lose, then showing up to the stadium with 4 blind midgets, 3 guys on crutches and 2 people who are unconscious and calling that your winning team.

Putin would probably do well in the red states. They like a strong, authoritarian leader as long as that authoritarian leader tells them he will lower their taxes.

I like how Republicans (specifically the Teatards), are hoping so damn hard that Obama fails to even show up. Reminds me of a cartoon where one guy's just wailing away on another, the one being "assaulted" just yawns, flicks the guy in the jaw with his middle finger...and the guy's KOed.

So, America disapproves of the Republican congress MORE than they do Putin, eh?

Interesting...

That's gotta sting.

Not really.

American's trust Obama to handle jobs more than the GOP.
A majority of Americans support Obama's jobs bill - and say it would improve unemployment.
A majority of Americans - including a majority of Republicans - support raising taxes on millionaires.

"No no no" works for a little while, but doesn't get support when you have no original ideas of your own.

I wonder what the reaction would have been from the libs on here if a conservative would have posted something like this back when Obama was running...

Don't know a ton about him but Herman Cain seems like an extremely intelligent guy that has been successful in business and banking? Too bad that many on the left can't get by the color of his skin...

Not to argue with you--because I actually agree with this post--but here's what I don't understand.

A majority of Americans seem to approve of Obama's proposals: Health care reform, raising taxes on the top 1%, the American Jobs Act, etc. Why the fark isn't his approval rating higher? It makes no sense. What are the people taking these polls saying? "Yeah, he's proposed a lot of good ideas that I agree with but he sucks!" I know it's been en vogue to biatch about the President for the past ~50 years but a little internal logic would be nice.

52% disapprove, right ok, far be it for me to wade in on such outrageously low figures, I mean, that's 48% of people like him, that's less than half.

However, forget all that, because it's meaningless in comparison to 48% of the population not viewing Putin unfavourably. Although thinking about it I guess I can hold out hope that they responded "Who?", so neither favourable nor unfavourable... but who really likes Putin, in the West? He crazy! Crazy like a fox.

Weep for the poor, downtrodden Conservatives. Voting for Herman Cain doesn't suddenly make the past 3 years of "LYING AFRICAN WHAR BIRTH CERTIFICATE HIP HOP BARBECUE WITCH DOCTOR DANGEROUS COMMON T-SHIRTGATE SECRET MUSLIM AFFIRMATIVE HARVARD ACTION BABY MAMA!" not happen.

Andrew Malcolm....this is just wishful Derp.

Obama is going to win pretty easy.

He'd simply not the demon Fox males him out to be. Much like the over the top attacks on Bush in 2004, the moderates actually see someone Obama *trying* to do something, and the R's reflexively saying no. Considering that he's *still* about three times as popular than Congress, its just not going to be close.

The Great EZE: Why the fark isn't his approval rating higher? It makes no sense.

It's a good question. I'm no polisci major but I would guess his approval rating is more of a reflection of how the economy is right now.

Also the GOP and FNC are very very good at controlling the narrative. Dems are usually back on their heels on defense. But this big tour and push by Obama has tipped the scales a bit and has increased the support for his jobs bill - though it seems to be decoupled from his approval rating.

Cletus C.: Nah, slice and dice it any way you choose but it seems Americans think all politicians suck.

I'm not slicing and dicing anything. Those statements are supported by the polls. The fact that Americans think all politicians suck doesn't negate that. In fact you could argue that the more Americans think all politicians suck the more support Obama and his jobs bill will gain - simply for the fact that: "OK, all politicians suck, but at least Obama is trying to do something about the economy." People out there are hurting, still, and the more Obama talks the more they see he's on their - the middle class's - side.

That boil on your butt isn't nearly as irritating as that rash in your crotch, in other words.

Also, the more Putin talks the more people will see he's on our side.

Forget about Putin for President. Even if the Russian mob can fake an American birth certificate (and I'm pretty sure they can because they have a lot of Soviet expertise to draw on), Putin is just too short. All the chest-baring, manly bare-backing and Siberian tiger-wrestling in the world won't make him electable in the USA.

The same is true for Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul, but never you mind opening those cans of worms. They're fish bait by convention time.

That leaves Obama, Romney and Perry, the three tallest candidates for now. None of them are popular enough to win a majority of the vote.

What you need is a candidate who is freakishly tall, freakishly white, male or female, old enough to be vehemently pro-social security and anti-everything else, and who can scare the Hell out of a New York Liberal-Conservative Democrat.

I think I have your man:

The thing that sticks out to me is just how in love a bunch of supposed Constitutionalists are with an out-and-out dictator like Putin. Tells you a lot about their real priorities.

I believe Putin would eliminate dissenters in swing states, skinning their skulls, and carving out a hole in which he could alternately skullfark and take bong hits.

Naturally, he would do this without a shirt, because we all know the biatches like Putin without the shirt.

Obama will probably not be President in 2012. Whether we have a Democrat for President remains to be seen.
