No doubt well deserved - I hope his end of days were spent writhing in anguish due to his technological monstrosities, his pandering to the 'simple folks' out there and therefore hindering intellectual progression...

douchebag/hater: I dunno.

He used his wealth and celebrity to jump ahead in the transplant list and from all appearances was a Grade A POS to work for, up to and including taking credit for others' ideas.

We all die and that's a fact...

I shouldn't respond...but I'll just say, "Sir, you are well named."

/and you are 100% wrong on all your "comments."

aswarmofa: A message for the iCult

Your god is dead, and no-one cares.

What the fark, man? What is wrong with you? The guy just died of pancreatic cancer. Most people don't make it past 2 years and he managed to live 5.

There's making snarky comments and puns because we laugh to make ourselves less uncomfortable, and then there's just being a dick. Guess which category you're in?

Here we go with all the weirdos talking about how profoundly he changed the world for the better somehow.

I may not have liked everything the man did, but, seriously, cancer needs to find a better thing to do than killing people. I suggest giving diseased goats oral sex.

Godspeed Mr. Jobs, thanks to your entrepreneurial spirit we might not have had the Apple and Pixar we do today.

ballchain: I wonder if the #occupywallstreet crowd will be dancing on that filthy capitalist's grave?

The people that they are protesting on Wall Street are money men who have done little to make the world, but have instead only grown wealthy by creating dangerous financial instruments and destroying American companies. Jobs, on the other hand, made his wealth by making the world a better place to be in by unlocking the potential for technology to enrich our lives. They are two very different ways to build a fortune.

Bill Gates, though not nearly as innovative as Steve, has actually earned a lot of respect from me in recent years because of he has been using his fortune to improve the lives of the people around the world. I'm curious to see how much of Jobs's fortune will be given away. I think it would be a cool gesture if a big chunk of it goes to the Gates Foundation as a way to show that he was bigger than that old rivalry.

Good bye, computer innovator.

What a fine, weird, dude you were.

Only had to drop the Apple /// an inch or so to get it to settle down. Higher than that, and you'd put a serious dent in a desk.

/first job included fixing them. hundreds of them.

DebinCO: Steve Jobs not only changed the face of personal computing, he directly affected our own family in a positive way. No, I won't post details. Suffice to say, his vision made things possible for our family that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Sleep well, Steve. Namaste.

He gave you his eyeballs?

maxpeck: Heard about the iPhone 4s did he, shame he had to leave on that note...

It wouldn't surprise if they kept him on life support until AFTER the iPhone 4s announcement.

/ Will there be a Special Edition Memorial Apple product coming out soon?

/ RIP Mr. Jobs

GoldSpider: misterhowl: Thank you, Steve. You forever changed my life and the world. You will never be forgotten. Peace and love.

Sure he made some cool shiat, but if Steve Jobs "changed your life", chances are you're WAAAY too emotionally invested in gadgets.

that's kind of a dick thing to say. i started my career using macs and their graphic software. i'm not emotionally invested in the gadgets but they did change my life.

SuperT: if you have the means I'd be watching for cheap apple stock tomorrow.

It's going to drop about 10% overnight, but will rally by early afternoon.

Long term, I expect AAPL to continue growing, but more slowly than over the past 5y. I wouldn't sell now if I had shares.

I started a lifelong love of computers because my grade school had a IIe and bought a IIgs when it first came out. In adolescence and adulthood I've been a PC user, but I wouldn't have gotten started without the house that Jobs built.

Thanks, Mr. Jobs.

I would have added Zune, but that would just be silly.

As a Farker with cancer, this hits me especially hard. Every damn day I see the end of my life ahead of me, much sooner than I thought it would be.

/not a totalfarker, so doesn't much matter I expect
//10 years younger than Jobs, dying anyway
