Jesus fark, championship rings are so goddamn ugly

That's so gay.

The funny part is Marshmont and Seguin went without dates. You know those two are staying single, and slaying all the college poon in Boston.

It's a beaut, Clark, a beaut!

/Has Marchand put his on a diamond-encrusted gold chain around his neck yet?

Mike Commodore approves.

Yep... Gaudy as hell, but that's how it goes with Championship rings I guess...

Good to see Recchi and Ryder again.

Can't wait for the banner raising on Thursday! And then I'll be in Chicago for the Bruins/'Hawks game next Saturday... Going to be a great couple of weeks for this Bruins' fan, I tell you.

Let's Go, Bruins!!!!!!

My wife thinks the tradition of giving out big gaudy pieces of jewelry for winning is a bit gay.

I kinda agree.

Hmm.. when I lived in NC the Hurricanes won the cup, then I moved to Massachusetts and the Bruins won the cup. Maybe it is just me, not these teams. No NHL teams in Oregon though, guess my theory will have to wait until I move again.

Of course the Flyers never managed to win in the 20 years I grew up in Pennsylvania...

I really want to make an animated .gif of Marchand jumping up and down and crying after they won the Cup... It was farking hilarious.

Not nearly as hilarious as him getting a tattoo with a misspelling on it, though.

I'm hoping he has a great sophomore year. He's a little pain in the ass, but he's got some speed and skill, too.

Without dates? Andrew Ference said they went as each others date.

I am glad he is coming back, just hope he doesnt get too big for his britches. He's got a ton of talent and energy, he just needs to focus it properly.

Yeah, you could really pick his voice up when he scored the empty netter in Game 7. "Yes! Yeah!"
Could also pick his voice up as the team celebrated on the bench before the game ended. Loved it.

They must have hired snookie to design it.

Oh yeah... He hit the jackpot as a rookie (Seguin, too). From what I can tell, the Bruins are pretty tight unit when it comes to training. If he looses focus or isn't training as hard as he should, he's going to hear it from the coaches and from his fellow players.

Indeed, one of the best parts of that final moment in the Stanley Cup finals is the unbridled excitement these guys let loose. It's even better when it's a team you support.

It is just a little much but I think it is a nice ring. They earned it let them enjoy it.

At least they went with a monotone color palette... I think adding any color into it would have just been way over top.

I like that they gave a nod to the other Stanley Cup winning Bruins teams, too.

Regardless of what it looks like, having one of those on your mantel is pretty sweet, I would guess.

The Slush: Downtown Vancouver is once again in chaos.

I'm from Surrey, so I lit my barbecue and smashed an egg out of Poor Loser Rage, then looted a knockoff Prada bag out of my wife's closet, which is already on Craigslist.

(Vomit sounds) Okay, good to see Boston got their Stanley Cup rings that were, along with the Stanley Cup, given to them by the NHL.

Don't worry though...this season, the 'Nucks got something for the Bruins and that biatch Brad Marchand, and it's called Aaron Volpatti's fist. If you haven't seen it yet, get your chowderhead ass on YouTube and look at what he did to Brad Winchester.

Yes, payback's a biatch, and you don't have Colin Campbell in charge to look the other way anymore...

Being primarily an NFL fan in a Canadian hockey city like Vancouver, I hoped as much as I could that Vancouver would win the cup. I was upset to see that the team who broke the most backs won the cup since I think they're dirty bastards who weren't deserving but in the end Vancouver skates out to "Where The Streets Have No Name." Any U2 song is bad enough, but that one? That's your anthem? A whiny, melancholy song like that? It's no wonder Vancouver didn't have the heart to finish with music like that, which Henry Rollins called "the music of defeat." Until they change the song I hope they never win the cup, just as long as no more assholes trash my city over a stupid hockey game.
