CanonicalNerd: CanisNoir: CanonicalNerd: I like how Beck goes on a "creative destruction" rant when the interview he was derping had nothing to do with that. Also I like how he said Apple destroyed IBM by having a better product, as I sit here typing this into a Microsoft browser that dominates the market, and is probably one of the worst browsers available. Also I'd suggest "Tucker: The Man and His Dream" for his netflix queue

Yea, his example was poor, but his underlying point was true.

No, it wasn't. His underlying point was that creative destruction, the "way the western world works", better products destroy the competition. That is wrong. I gave 2 examples that disprove his argument, there are hundreds more.

His other point was that "OWS" are only interested in destruction. That is wrong. The interview he was derping about said absolutely nothing about destruction. A movement being criticized for "not knowing what they want" cannot also be criticized for being "only interested in destruction".

His third point was that "this" leads to gas chambers, millions dead, etc. "Every. Single. Time!" There have been numerous protests that have lead to things like Civil Rights, Workers Rights, the United States, etc. Many of the advances in liberty have been a direct result of "taking it to the streets", which is of course antithetic to it leading to totalitarianism.

This was so well stated, I wanted to read it again.

clowncar on fire: bootman: A Wall St. bank donates money (bribes) directly to a police dept and the police dept is not all that nice to protestors who target the banks. Citation.

Right of center Farkers, imagine if a solar power company donated millions to a police department and the cops proceeded to pepper spray some Tea Party protesters?

/I do not expect a honest argument from Right of Center Farkers.
//Surprise me.

How's this: in any situation, it is wrong for police to act as paid agents or mercenaries.

This same site is still beholden to the belief that the police lead the protesters out onto the bridge in an effort to massacre them so probably not the most reliable source for a "balanced" citation.

No further statement needed.

Just for giggles- I'll check some more mainstream sites for verification. Until then, you might just want to keep this little news leak under your hat a bit longer.

It was on the Chase website. They really donate money. Are you that farking blind?

Gyrfalcon: Mother of god, is that for real?!?

It's a forum blog post.

Anyone can post something like that in a forum.

It's "real" in that it's something that exists, but it's not the policy position of the OWS protesters.

The only people I see posting it seem to be right wingers who are opposed to the OWS, who post it at every opportunity.

That's exactly what they did except the "massacre" is a strawman.
You'll accept the lies that the mainstream media tells you though.

I listened to the whole clip (I don't know why) and I gotta say, Beck is just way out there. I would give anything to be able to read his mind to see if he really and truly believe the shiat he spouts on air. I just can't fathom a guy that was able to be as successful as he's become honestly believes this crap. And if he does not believe all of it and is just doing this for the money, does he know the kind of harm he's caused by spouting these make-believe situations.

I seriously, seriously doubt it. Obama is part of the problem. Remember, Obama's biggest contributor was Goldman Sachs. His Treasury Secretary is the former head of GS. The head of the SEC, Mary Schapiro, was a bigshot at NASD. She got a cool $9mil when she left that job to head the SEC.

Other examples abound.

If you think Obama isn't part of the 1% you're simply mistaken.

Have to watch the local group of protestors outside of my office daily now...so really getting a kick...

/Protip: When protesting, perhaps we leave the hackey sack game at home?
//Protip 2.0: When creating your signage, make sure your spelling skills are up to speed. (There is an asstard in the group in front of our building...swear to God...his sign says 'Ocupy')

I don't care if you're protesting 'Less Filling/Tastes Great' debate. If you feel strongly about something to the degree you want to protest and make your voice heard...at the very least...proof it!

It certainly sends a tacit message that, if you don't understand the basics of operating a dictionary...perhaps fully understanding the issue being protested might be out of your grasp.

Gyrfalcon: Mother of god, is that for real?!?

It was one guy's suggestions, which were roundly ridiculed and never adopted, and cited as such, repeatedly, just yesterday, on this very site.

GoldSpider is a disingenuous twatwaffle. You'd do well to avoid him.

Certainly one shouldn't take anything he posts as accurate.

Hitler and the Wall Streeters share a common goal: the establishment of a society ruled by Brute Force. Our choice as a civilization comes down to Freedom or Force. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, the DemocRat Party, and the Wall Streeters are all on the side of force. Which side are you on?

Yes, calling Obama a socialist makes you look less ignorant and stupid if you're "polite" about it.

Teabagger "logic" is the best kind.

Being quiet and polite is pretty much the exact polar farking opposite of how a protest is supposed to work.. just sayin'
