How do you get arrested this many times and not stay in jail?

Please, it's only domestic abuse. It's not like he was smoking marijuana or anything truly evil like that.

/That was sarcasm.

Well, alcohol was involved. This young man clearly needs a structured program and guidance from his higher power.

Obviously the judges felt that the man was worthy of a second chance in each of the 65 previous offenses.

/He must be a wonderful public speaker and clean up real nice.

People like AverageAmericanGuy and crab66 who are sure everyone is innocent. Remember Casey Anthony or O.J?. They both got away with murder.

Those 65 arrests are only the ones on record since he turned 18. Give Francisco some credit for what was surely his impressive pre-game efforts.

A lot of places don't take family violence seriously, despite the fact that it's often a precursor to murder.

The article doesn't even touch on the very relevant question of how many felony convictions he has.

He is white and more than likely all of his cases were handled by suburban Cook County courts. I had a friend that was an assistant D.A in a suburban Chicago county. He said that white people were constantly given second and third chances and were allowed to plea down charges to get sent to diversion programs instead of getting jail time and felony convictions. He said black and Hispanic people would get the book thrown at them and no second chances for the same thing. From what he said about the suburban court systems, especially with drugs, seeing a white person rack up a lot of arrest is common place out there.

The system doesn't care about real criminals. There is no profit in it. They would much rather go after DUI or drug possession because they can usually make several thousand in profit on those kinds of cases. And speeding, of course, which racks up $50 to $100 a shot and they can give out thousands of those in a day.

Arrests? We're talking about arrests, here. This is police harassment.

If it were that many CONVICTIONS, then I'd agree he should have the life stamped out of him with a commercial grade steam press.

He should try that in Texas.

One or two arrests holds the possibility of 'harrassment'. 65 times culminating in a hostage situation is a pattern of behavior.

Just because he was arrested doesn't mean he was ever actually sentenced for any of those crimes. He probably got to plead down to disorderly conduct or some shiat. I've seen RAP sheets where people have been charged with all kinds of horrific crimes and plead to disorderly conduct and got a fine instead of jail, or arrested for huge amount of cocaine and convicted of

You can be arrested for 65 misdemeanors and they can never send you to prison. As long as those 65 arrests aren't second offenses of some crimes, like domestic battery, where the the first conviction is only a misdemeanor but the second is a felony. Most of the time people who rack up a bunch of misdemeanors fark up and commit a felony or three way before their 65th arrest.

You know, I think we send people to jail too frequently for too long and for the wrong reasons - but if you're such a putz you got arrested 60 times, you need to be SOMEWHERE where someone is watching out for you all the time.

why is it some people are able to commit such serious crimes and consistently get released in short periods? I was arrested for steroids in college when i was 23. I was on probation for ten years after 6 months in prison. If I had even farted too loudly, I would have been sent back for the remaining time. No victims, nobody got hurt.. just testosterone. My only other arrest was for a PI and then a DUI I got when driving home from jail from the PI arrest. both the PI and The dui were dropped. This guy terrorizes people 65 times and is only 27 years old.. ???

It's not like he was pot smoking criminal or anything. That's when we lock them up.

This is common in Illinois. You get caught driving without a up to date insurance card or a joint and you get screwed. Guys like him get out all the time and do the same exact thing. Reporting to parole or probation officers is pointless if they have been in the joint already. Only way to get rid of them is to shoot them in self-defense. Unless in Chicago were you would get in trouble for even owning a registered gun to protect yourself.

This is to let the reader know that this guy didn't live in the rich, upscale, pretentious village of Northbrook, but rather the crappy, criminal-infested apartment complex just outside the village limits.

He's only 27? OMG
That means he has been arrested every 2 1/2 months since he turned 18.

If he put that effort into education and work he could be quite successful.

Spoken like a person that was either raised or lives in unincorporated township borders.

This guy is still wasting air because in Cook County only politicians and criminals are allowed to carry guns. Eventually he will fark up someplace where his victims haven't been rendered helpless and someone will shoot him enough times to either get the message across or end the problem.

Right!
He will spit at someone like you, who will go off and shoot him, and then that person will be arrested and convicted for manslaughter.
And that's just assuming that person can shoot straight and not hit anyone else.

If only he had had a little bit of marijuana on him during those 64 other arrests, then he would have been locked away for good before any of this.

k8m0: And why exactly was this gentleman granted bail?

My thinking exactly.....until I saw it was a $300,000 bond. I'm a Canuck, and we don't have bail bondsmen here, but if I'm correct, they bondsman will charge a 10% fee.

That means Skippy needs to come up with a quick $30K if he wants to see the street. Either that, or convince someone to pony up the entire $300K on his behalf. He'll be seeing the sunshine through bars until his trial.

GDubDub: Just stopped in to applaud subby's proper implementation of the apostrophe. Such a rarity here.

Guess again.

It should have read [ Illinois's ] because Illinois is a singular noun. If the noun is singular, even if it already ends in an "s" you use an apostropohe s (the boss's party). The apostrophe goes outside the s only if the noun is both plural and possessive.

He was probably homeless. You too can get arrested that much if you sit and get wasted on some cop's beat day after day, and you're a dick about it.
