Smart cars scare the crap outta me. Especially when they're doing eighty on I-684 and the wind shear is about to flip it into the next lane of traffic.

OK, he has a sense of humour and doesn't take himself too seriously, that makes him cool. And by extension bestows a certain cool on the "car" too.
Normally that is the sort of car an 11 year old girl might find cool. Or then again she might think it's a biatchildish.

The cheese is much larger than I'd anticipated. That's gotta be one hell of a drag increase. Then again, given their top speed, it might not be too bad overall, in terms of gas mileage.

I drove a Honda Insight 1st gen and it averaged 52 mpg over 100,000 miles, and I wasn't particularly nice to it. If you drove it like you stole it, it would still get 35 mpg. When I was nice to it I could get it over 100 mpg if I was driving around 45 mph.

And Road and Track got one up to 122 mph IIRC. Though if it had stock tires on it, that would have been a terrifying ride.

A Smart Car is probably not a bad 'in town' car. But they have wacky transmissions. I think I'd rather have a Yaris or something like that.

Saw one of these (a Heinkel) found in a locker on "Storage Wars". I think Barry got a couple grand if I remember correctly...

Hipsters, DON'T buy Smart Cars. They're basically golf carts only with worse handling, and they don't get all that great mileage considering what disgusting-to-drive death traps they are. Get a Fiat 500 instead. A real car, with four seats, great handling, virtually equal mileage, that costs about the same and is way cooler.
