This week, Corey Dillon will hurt himself after slipping on a beer cup. Hilarity will ensue.

Well that would certainly explain their great road record too ...

It's a good thing they don't have to play when it's snowing or raining. That could be dangerous.

2003-09-23 02:31:24 PM

""As you can see, that field is terrible," Dillon said. "I planted my foot in that grass, it gave away, aggravated my groin.""

Yea you should've seen that game. His groin was swearing up a storm, and actually went up to the referee at midfield to complain, where they were arguing head to head.

I noticed this too during the Steelers game. There were big chunks of sod everywhere. It's got to be really awful if they want artificial stuff put in.

Remember the game not long ago, against the Ravens I think, where the turf was so bad, the teams missed a whole shiatload of extra points?

Go Bengals!!!!!

"On Monday, Corey Dillon joined the parade. He blamed the field's loose footing for the groin injury that sidelined him in the second quarter and suggested that the Bengals might otherwise have defeated Pittsburgh. "

Right on Corey, because everyone knows that the Steelers didn't play on that same crappy ass turf on Sunday.

What is it with this web site and its fetish for the Bengals?

Yeah, the Browns are such an outstanding team. They certainly set the standard by which other NFL teams are judged. I am overwhelmed by the brilliant Butch Davis.

Bengals win this week by 10, no mention on Fark will ensue.

The grass there is terrible. After watching the Cowher press conference, he said the grass caused a kickoff return to not be a touchdown due to a player slipping after making a cut.

But even with that being said, it cant be as bad as Pittsburgh using a steam roller to flatten out the mud/grass field during half time. It was after that incident that the Steelers went to a blend of synthetic grass and real grass.

But I doubt Mike Brown, who along with Bill Bidwell in Arizona, are the cheapest and lousiest owners in the NFL, will install a decent surface.

Did you see last week's Sports Illustrated? There's a picture of Sun Devil Stadium at the start of the fourth quarter of the Seattle game, and there can't be more than a couple hundred people in the stands.

Coach Marvin Lewis reacted strongly Monday when told about the comment of Steelers coach Bill Cowher that they spotted an opening in Bengals special teams.

"It's obvious after the fact," Lewis said. "We don't execute, but that's one for them, and I'm glad they get to pat themselves on the back. That's a good thing."

Hey, at least he's not Butch Davis.

Isn't Cincinnati the place where they can't even draw 30,000 folks a game to a brand new ballpark? Last I heard the Reds were on pace to set an all-time low for attendance at a new place.

Of course, there's also Atlanta where they can't even get a stadium half-full for a freaking PLAYOFF game...

Why has FARK suddenly become an anti-Bengals web site? This HAS to be a conspiracy of some sort. I know! Drew must be getting advertising money from Cleveland.com. That explains it.

By the way, it is Hillary Clinton's fault that the Bengals suck.

2003-09-23 02:53:04 PM
People only bash Cincinnati because it deserves it.

Say what you will about the "great" Carl Lindner but the Reds are a terrible organization. Mike Brown is the worst owner in football and a disgrace to his father's name. And in Cincinnati a man run for City Council and not actually live in Cincinnati.

Terrible, terrible place to live. I hate it here.

Uhh...the Browns made the playoffs last year. They also just one last week (not by much, but they still won). Exactly how do they suck?

/wishes we could beat Pitt.

2003-09-23 02:53:18 PM
Boy, there are a lot of defensive Bengals fans here.
At least we're not the Browns?
C'mon, people, the Browns went from 2-14 in 1999 to 9-7 and the playoffs last year. The Bengals have CONSISTENTLY sucked since the first George Bush was president.
The County Commissioners actually considered SUING the Bengals for sucking so bad.
Mike Brown started cutting players because they had the gall of talking about how lousy he was as a manager.
The Bengals have talent, I don't deny that. Their problem is management, pure and simple.

2003-09-23 02:54:11 PM
Speaking of how much sports in Cincinnati suck, the Reds recently offered the league minimum for veterans to Barry Larkin to play next season. Barry Larkin is one of the greatest Reds ever, and while he isn't able to play every day or to the highest standards anymore, to insult your team captain like this is inexcuseable. Needless to say Barry rejected the insult, and may wind up in another team's uniform next year.

I haven't been this upset since they fired Tony Perez.

2003-09-23 02:55:05 PM
I didn't know the Bengals knew where the Red Zone was
Duh...that's where they thrown their interceptions.

this is not an anti-Cinci thing to say, but just that the Bengals are not that good. It has nothing to do with ESPN or bias. Cleveland 33, Cinci 0

2003-09-23 02:58:09 PM
Barry Larkin is the most selfish baseball player since Tony Perez.

He's 40 years old, he's the second highest paid player on the roster, next to Griffey, and he's the second most frequently injured player (after Griffey, of course). He has been making 9 million a year for the last 3 years, and he decides that 1 million a year isn't enough? GOOD RIDDANCE! Take Griffey with you.

Let's not forget Tony Perez, who whined that his race was the reason he wasn't getting admitted to the Hall, and then pressed to get the number 24 retired when he found out that Junior was coming to town.

Perhaps Tony and Barry would be so kind as to shoot each other in the face so Cincinnati could be rid of two more sore losers.

RichardRoddendic...Bwaaaaaaahhhaaaaaaaa!!! That was a good one.

I actually went to the game Sunday and it was embarrassing getting shouted down by the opposing team. Bengals fans really do suck...but we've been conditioned for 12 years to be...

I also saw John Kitna at Montgomery Inn about 20 minutes after the game. I was like..."shouldn't you be getting your ass chewed off right now you little midget."

2003-09-23 03:01:30 PM
The icy_one is right. The Reds will do nothing 'till they unload those two salaries.

As for the BenGALS...I actually think they will pull one out this weekend. Not the -10 someone mentioned up top...but I think they will pull out a squeaker!

2003-09-23 03:02:00 PM
Maybe if people in Cincinnati would stop supporting sub-par "athletics" Mike Brown would change his tune. There are plenty of other things to do in Cincinnati on Sundays, like watching half a dozen good football games on television.

2003-09-23 03:02:39 PM
What was Kitna doing there? Gettin' a hummer from a latino tranny?

/doesn't deserve hummers from females
