It's working so well for him so far. Is that why the GOP is begging Christie to run?

2011-09-28 03:27:38 PM
Is he going to start executing the acquitted, too?

2011-09-28 03:28:38 PM
Must be taking lessons from Scott Walker.

2011-09-28 03:30:55 PM
That's just crazy enough to work. They'll say he's no nonsense and not afraid to speak his mind.

2011-09-28 03:34:42 PM
So he is using the Chris Christie political strategy?

2011-09-28 03:35:03 PM
So it's the same as his old strategy, then.

He'll execute the next one with his bare hands on live TV

The defiant response in the face of nearly a week of sharp criticism is a reflection of Perry's own pugnacious style - the best defense is a good offense. But it's also a signal from the Austin powers about what they view as the bed-wetting within the GOP political class.

It's a bed-wetter, baby!

What does his hair think about all of this?

AdolfOliverPanties: So he is using the Chris Christie political strategy?

Christie does come off as an a-hole to many but it is because he has a platform he is implementing. Perry does not even appear to have a platform outside of Obama and Romney are godless heathens and are ruining our country.

If he does it in a slow and very painful way, then I'll vote for him.

Well, to Rick Perry's credit, being an asshole is what he does best.

Makes sense, Republicans seem to love assholes. Figuratively and literally.

2011-09-28 03:41:27 PM
He's working with the Palin Principle: if male GOPers want to have sex with you, you'll get their votes.

If you're wondering why being an asshole would help with that, look one link south of here.

Well, that should be so hard for a colossal asshole to pull off...

Well it's his only choice isn't it? The center is occupied and he has a long way to go to be the GOP's craziest primary candidate.

As I've said before, the current crop of GOP runners are playing "The Derp is Right".

How much government is too much?

2 Tons! Um...15 pounds? A bushel? Maybe a teaspoon? FARK IT NO GOVERNMENT! VOTE FOR ME!!!!!!

I disagree. You can't have none. You always have to bet at least $1.

I don't get it. This is a Rick Perry thread. Oh wait, are you just one of those people who gets all butt hurt when your "team" shows their true colors? Seriously. There are plenty of Obama threads. Save it until it's topical.

Those go hand and hand. Ron Paul doesn't quite understand the rules. He can't bid a $1, but that doesn't stop his section of the audience for cheering like crazy.

If you're asking how much more of an asshole Rick Perry could be the answer is none. None more asshole.

I can find no greater indication that the GOP has gone off the deep end than the fact RICK PERRY is deemed too far to the left. I don't even know how to process that information.

2011-09-28 04:28:11 PM
Since Christie decided to opt-out, the GOP primary is going to boil down to who has the most derp. This is actually a winner for him.

/ And bad for Obama...

At least Christie isn't a dumb asshole.

Sock Ruh Tease:

That's not a corn dog.

It seems that Obama prefers hot dogs, and the bun ruins the effect. Best I could find :(

/ there is an interesting mashup of Obama leaning back in his chair, eyes close ... and the Bachmann corn dog pic

Flying Code Monkey: Rick who?

What I find to be funny is Bachmann wins a straw poll and it's "Bachmann is going to get the nomination."

Cain wins a straw poll and it's like "ZOMG did you see where Perry and Romney ended up in that straw poll?"

Poor Herman, can't get any press no matter what he does.

ManateeGag: It's working so well for him so far. Is that why the GOP is begging Christie to run?

The thing is ... it is working for him well. He's still the leading candidate among identified GOP polled voters. Its only the media, DC insider and pundit world who have written him off (the same ones that proclaimed the 2008 election would be Hillary vs. Guilliani).

At the end of the day the GOP is still the Party of the South, and the South will nominate their next candidate.

Time for Perry* to just come out and say "You should elect me because I am not black or Mormon". It's all he has at this point.
