You can't possibly stop it from doing that, babe.

For some reason the Onion video would not play for me on their site. Here's the YT version, in case anyone else has this problem.

This was the Israeli government sending out propaganda again. We all know that Al-Queda is a sect of the peaceable core called islam. Of course it was the US and their allies. ppffsstt.

This is the funniest thing I will read all week.

Paraphrase---> 'Stop claiming that the U.S. government killed all those people! Don't you have any confidence in our terrorist abilities?'

For them, Al Qaeda was a competitor for the hearts and minds of the disenfranchised Muslims around the world.

Funny that the author believes that Iran has a motive to lie about who commited the attacks, but Al Qaeda, the organization crtedited with the attacks...the organization that rose to world-wide prominance as a result of their conection to the attacks, apparently has no reason to lie.

So, now we BELIEVE what cames from Al Qaeda because they're taking a position against Iran? Just trying to figure out when they're dispicable terrorist scum and when they are the light of truth. Help me out.

Money. A way to raid the American treasury through no-bid contracts and military spending. We were closing bases and reconsidering defense budgets in 2000 sicne the Cold War was over. We needed "a new Pearl Harbor"...a new enemy to help them justify our defense spending. New bombs, new planes, new war technology...the private sector and all of the worlds police departments couldn't make them the same money as one good decade long war.

/IMHO

Of course AQ is against troofers - it doesn't paint their handlers in the best light, either.

I'm confused. You're acting like we just now started to believe it was them since they are taking a position against Iran. Except we haven't done that. We've known they were behind the attacks, they've confirmed multiple times they were behind the attacks, and now they're telling Iran to STFU and give them some credit. Iran is insulting both the USA and Al Qaeda by saying we did it to ourselves. Al Qaeda may hate us, but they want some recognition.

And why can't we have both scenarios where they are terrorist scum and are telling the truth?

Those two things are not mutually exclusive. Even Cheney and Rumsfeld probably tell the truth, once in a while.

Me? Nah. These are just some photos I found on Flickr.

So, Al Qaeda is so thristy for recognition of their supposed accomplishment that they're willing to take a position which HELPS Bush and Cheney, but they don't have incentive to lie? You haven't "known" anything other than what you've been told. A passport floating down from an exploding plane that gets picked up in a city of millions during a terrorist attack and gets identified immediately as a vital piece of evidence, is not what I would consider concrete.

Al Qaeda needs 9/11 more than Guliani.

You don't have to see 9/11 as a conspiracy by our government to still recognize it as a direct result of our foreign policy, and it doesn't take any stretch of the imagination to see how the 'War on Terror' has curtailed our civil liberties and put us on the road to an almost insurmountable level of national debt.

So bin Laden before his death, and al Q currently, are claiming responsibility for the 9/11 attacks.

HOW does the "truther" crowd account for this?
