It must suck to know that the US can and will strike anywhere in the heart of your country and kill whomever they wish, and there isn't a damn thing you can do to prevent it.

Pakistan needs to get over itself. Just cause she got penetrated doesn't mean we're going steady.

had to raise an eye brow to that one

Headso: pakistan you have no oil

is that the international version of "I'm just not that into you"?

From TFA:

Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar dismissed the claims as mere allegations. She warned the U.S. that it risked losing Pakistan as an ally and could not afford to alienate the Pakistani government or its people.

I'd hate for that to happen. Before you know it they'll be harboring terrorist leaders wanted by the United States, and training militants that attack Afghanistan and India.

Pakistan is next in line. We already did Iraq and Afghanistan.

Screw all 3 of them. I don't really agree with the way we are conducting these wars, but all 3 of those countries need to be beaten into submission.

I'd say call their bluff, but a petulant child with nuclear weapons is one you want to keep on a relatively short leash...

Who here can honestly say that they believe we would have gotten Osama if we had told the Pakistanis we were coming to get him?

2011-09-23 11:58:01 AM
Let's review:

Pakistan has harboring OBL. China is claiming Pakistan is harboring Muslim terrorists that have carried out attacks in Western China. India is of course pissed over Kashmir.

We could roll Pakistan tomorrow and not a single fark would be given by anyone of note.

I'd assume SOCOM would grab the nukes like we grabbed OBL. For what we spend, we better know where those farkers are at least.

That's funny and all (I loved "Los Sandgeles"), but Iran is a part of "New America" now?

Hell. We pay to keep them secure. Where do you think half of our foreign aid to Pakistan goes?

A talking head on NPR was just saying that Pakistan is preparing for an eventual (sooner rather than later) US withdrawl. They don't want to be seen as a US ally, which would make them seem weak in the region, so they're talking tough now.

Yeah I think I made that when their was an article about invading Iran during the 08 elections.

I figure it will happen eventually.

Last I checked one of Pakistan's main imports to the US was bar towels. And not the Guinness kind, the other kind.

US needs to take a page from The Culture series... Instead of the well known saying "Don't fark with The Culture", it needs to be "The fark with the United States" and just be willing to fark someone's shiat up with they fark with us.

If it's proven Pakistan was involved in the embassy bombing, fark THEIR shiat UP

Sigh. We stuck our dick in crazy. Again.

Crazy places in which the U.S. has stuck its dick:

1. Iran
2. Iraq
3. Pakistan
4. Libya
5. Afghanistan
6. Tons more, no doubt.

I am starting to think our foreign diplomacy is being run by Charlie Sheen's junk.

Robespierre: Why aren't we extorting Pakistan for money? Isn't that what what empires are for?

Heh. They've been very successful in extorting money from us, though:

The reason the Pakistani security services support the Taliban, he said, is for money: after the 9/11 attacks, the Pakistani military concluded that keeping the Taliban alive was the surest way to win billions of dollars in aid that Pakistan needed to survive. The military's complicated relationship with the Taliban is part of what the official called the Pakistani military's "strategic games." Like other Pakistanis, this former senior official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of what he was telling me.

"Pakistan is dependent on the American money that these games with the Taliban generate," the official told me. "The Pakistani economy would collapse without it. This is how the game works."

As an example, he cited the Pakistan Army's first invasion of the tribal areas - of South Waziristan in 2004. Called Operation Shakai, the offensive was ostensibly aimed at ridding the area of Taliban militants. From an American perspective, the operation was a total failure. The army invaded, fought and then made a deal with one of the militant commanders, Nek Mohammed. The agreement was capped by a dramatic meeting between Mohammed and Safdar Hussein, one of the most senior officers in the Pakistan Army.

"The corps commander was flown in on a helicopter," the former official said. "They had this big ceremony, and they embraced. They called each other mujahids. "

"Mujahid" is the Arabic word for "holy warrior." The ceremony, in fact, was captured on videotape, and the tape has been widely distributed.

"The army agreed to compensate the locals for collateral damage," the official said. "Where do you think that money went? It went to the Taliban. Who do you think paid the bill? The Americans. This is the way the game works. The Taliban is attacked, but it is never destroyed.

"It's a game," the official said, wrapping up our conversation. "The U.S. is being taken for a ride."

I'm just saying maybe we shouldn't be 90% of NATO's military without charging something for it. Otherwise, draw it down

Screw beaten into submission... I say the US gets out of the world police business altogether. Stop the hemmorage of bribe cash flowing out. Bring every military person home and let them practice their war skills defending the USA. Half get to be defenders, half get to be aggressors and they play war games all around the borders of this country. Hits on so many levels... we get our troops back, they learn their skills and all those eyes, hearts and minds would be defending soil...
