I watched that. It just seemed like sort of a sad cry for attention.

Not really familiar with "Jackass" are you...

The best part of that was Shatner's remarks... , "Steve-O, what the f*ck? You should've went ass first."

It's very sad that Mike Tyson's fist didn't make it all the way to the back of the inside of his skull. Very sad, indeed.

I am. That seemed more like "hey, let's make a shiatload of money by doing stupid shiat." This just seemed late and sad.

Or Comedy Central Roasts.

His "stand up" was the most painful, unfunny portion of the show and that running into the fist bit just screamed desperation. I'm disappointed that Comedy Central included any of it at all in their final cut.

hp6sa: Dumbass gets punched in the face really hard?

No, that's what I thought was going to happen too. Instead he had Tyson hold out his fist, and he ran and jumped into it. I wanted to see a full on punch. The first one was pretty lame, so during the credits at the end he did it again and broke his nose.

I thought subby was making a joke about Mike Tyson hitting Steve-O for some dumb shiat he said. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. Steve-O's done stupider things before.

/Shatner's reaction was priceless.

Steve-O was the worst part of the roast. When that blonde chick whipped out a Dunn joke he looked absolutely livid.

The girl from Grey's and Jeselnik were the best ones. I also liked the fat guy because he was so shocked about what was being said and how he wasn't even gonna attack others, but fark it they threw the first punches.

Tyson was embarrassing, Shatner was good, but he needed to attack the other roasters more, Lovitz was awkward, but did have a couple good zings.

Shatner is gradually turning into a national treasure, as unlikely as that seems.

On that note, are they still doing Bea Arthur jokes?

Was it great? No......It was "meh". What did you expect? He did 4-5 minutes of Ok material, then something "jackass-ish"....that's his whole career.

I'm just surprised no one went with, "speaking of roasting celebrities....Hey, Steve-O...how is Ryan Dunn doing?"

2011-09-22 12:24:38 PM

allenh1: I thought that roast was going to be a lot better.

Really? It was thrown together almost last minute (they were supposed to roast Kid Rock, but it was continuously pushed back and then eventually replaced with Sheen). He doesn't really have a career in the last 10 years besides 2.5 Men. He's just not very roastable. Everything that was said at the roast had already been repeated ad nauseum since he left the show. There were very few original jokes, and most of those were targeted at the fellow roasters.

I went in with somewhat low expectations, and was at least satisfied. Main reason for watching it was Jeselnik. He was the best one during the Trump roast, so I have no problem supporting him.

That would have been interesting to see how he would have reacted to that. Especially given his "Great White" joke that was cut from the broadcast.

Well, it does get into Mel Brooks' definition of comedy.

"Tragedy is when I get a paper cut. Comedy is you step into an open manhole and die!"

Seems like Steve-O's got a fragile nose. Tyson didn't even actually hit him, just stuck his hand out, and the guy ran into it. I've never broken my nose just from bumping into shiat that wasn't actually moving. I guess I could do it by falling off my motorcycle, but full face helmets tend to prevent your face from striking concrete. Besides, if he knows he's gonna run into the fist, why doesn't he have enough body control to adjust his head position to where the blow doesn't break anything? Oh well, good! I've always thought the guy was an unfunny, probably closeted, utter dipshiat.

I knew it was going to be bad when they were showing the "stars" arriving and Tyson said "It's gonna be a bambarassment for him!"

adam carolla tells a funny story about him.....they wre doing some roast, Giraldo asks Carolla backstage, "hey man, 'carolla', that's mexican, right?" ace is like "no dumbass, it is italian. why do you ask?"

girlado is like, "because i have a great joke about you being mexican, but.....nevermind."

and then during giraldo's set, he's like, "adam carolla's here, adam carolla, he's mexican, so that means he was probably conceived in the back of a Toyota Carolla since he's mexican....."

and carolla just looks at him like, "what the fark, idiot? i just told you i wasn't mexican."

He did it twice. Once early on and then at the very end. Maybe more!, but that's what they showed on the teevee.

2011-09-22 03:01:04 PM
Whole thing was a disappointment. They had a chance to really lay into Sheen but were mostly polite about it. Schumer was the only one with the balls to cross any lines and though I like Jeselnik his stuff was a little too inside-joke to really come across well.

2011-09-22 03:37:11 PM
Would have been more entertaining if he had jumped head-first into Lisa Lampanelli's cooch. Bonus: We never would have heard from him again.
