Ok, that was boring. Somebody tell me if explodes in her face.

Granted she is attractive (with bonus points for being smart), but she is not attractive or naked enough for me to listen to all of that.

Well it's a little more complicated than that. You have to make two groups with the odd groops to the left and the even groups to the right. That means 1,3,5,7 left and 2,4,6,8 right. Now 7 and 8 are whelp groups. Then you have to DPS very very slowly, and by slowly I mean farking slow. Now if you get agro you're going to lose 50 DKP. You'll also lose 50 DKP if you get kicked into the whelps. There is no agro reset either. There's some bullshiat from the lab assistants about an agro reset but they're all undergrads who don't know what the fark they're doing. Now after two electrostatic discharges you can start dissolving the cadmium oxide assuming you know how agro works and you don't over agro. Then expose it to radiation and DOT it and help the whelp groups going into phase two expose it to massive dosages of radiation. You'll want to get it down as fast ass possible so have DOTS up every time in two linear columns. The you'll have more QUANTUM DOTS. More DOTS now and more DPS.

Although she had the proper PPE, she committed a couple of no-no's. She was a bit too cavalier with that butane torch around organic solvents and she didn't use secondary gloves over the dry box gloves on the inside of the box (this prevents cross contamination).

Cool stuff. I didn't have any trouble with the technology / chemistry until they adhered antibodies to the lipid layer surrounding the quantum dot. That was a pretty neat way to make them bind to specific sites.

I wonder if you could add florescent dye markers to the lipids and give the quantum dots different colors. Then you could prepare quantum dots with various antibody / dye marker combinations and have color-coded visual markers for all sorts of things.

Some of those chemicals are seriously toxic / noxious. Selenium replaces sulfur in your proteins, gives you a horrific smell (think garlic to the nth degree), and interferes with protein metabolism. Phosphines are neurotoxins.

Glove boxes are a pain to work with. I did that as a grad student in the south, without the benefit of air conditioning. In the summer you had to invert the gloves and wipe them down after work.

The QD itself is a fluorescent marker, so I'm not sure why you'd want to coat it with another one. It would be interesting to see if they influence each other, though. I doubt they would unless the linker between the fluorescent part and the QD was highly conjugated and allowed charge transfer.

They make little paper sleeves that soak up sweat so that doesn't happen (as much).

Actually, the only solvents in the system at that point are the molten stearic acid and TOPO and some ODE, so flame away. You're right about the secondary gloves though.
