I think you mean Austria, retardmitter.

But it's still strange, because English isn't the primary language of Austria.

From every episode of Hogan's Heroes I have ever watched, I just assumed all Germans spoke English, and only used their native tongue to accent certain points.

True Fact: Hitler was a failed artist not because he was bad, but because all of his painting was of kangaroos in the Outback.

That was so ridiculous/stupid that I think he must have made that as toungue in cheek remark, pretending to be an ignoramous that does't know the difference between Austria and australia.

I'm guessing either he had some mental issue, or just doesn't want to go back to where he's actually from. If he also lied about his age, maybe a foreign legion deserter.

When I last taught 4th grade, I had a student who insisted that after they escaped Iran, her family walked across Australia, and ended up in France. No matter how many times I tried to explain (using maps, globes, etc.) it just didn't take.

The hardest words to say in English are hello, goodbye, please, and thank you, as judged from years of watching foreign characters in tv and movies able to discuss nuclear physics in english, but somehow can never say those words in other than their native tongue.
