I think you should have said Øresund, a narrow and tight strait instead of Kattegat. A "gat" is the arse on a fish. But we all have our preferences :)

Yeah, this. I mean, one is a socialist so she's hot. The other isn't so she's not.

Why is that difficult to understand?

Wow, that really is a little freaky. If I look at individual parts (eye color, nose shape, eyebrows) I totally see it, but as a whole - it's just not happening. I think it's that Thorning-Schmidt looks genuinely happy (she has a beer, of course she's happy) and Bachmann has that scarey "Yes, you will all lift me to greater power!" kind of look. I think it's in the eyes, they truly are a window to the soul.

/Of course, tomorrow I'll find out that Thorning-Schmidt has been eating babies.

The ladies of denmark are, as a whole, quite attractive. But something tends to happen as they age, they all seem to morph into something that looks tired and worn out and far less attractive at about the same age. Maybe its the fish, or the smoking, or drinking but there is a crash point that very few of the women seem to get through without the fugly stick smacking them about a bit.

If ever I decided to leave the states I would seriously consider moving to Denmark. The people are all nice, the cities seem pretty safe, the work ethic is strong in many, and social acceptance seems to be high overall. The tax rate is a downside, but you get a lot for what you pay. I spent a lot of time in copenhaven for work and it was all pleasant.
It wonder if all the good nature is due to all the drinking. Denmark is the drinkingest country I've ever been to. Though that might just be the city.

Thorning-Schmidt is a Social Democrat, and she's kind of average looking for a middleaged Danish woman.

Not a very successful leader, though. Then again, it's tough to be one when you've got Russia flooding your country with agents provocateur.

Well, it's a highly educated, prosperous, peaceful country that values competence over ideology in politics and doesn't do a whole lot to try and legislate how its citizens should live their lives. What's not to be happy about?

Bachmann's maiden name was Amble, which could have been English or Danish. Either way, I'd say their both pretty phenotypically Nordic.

I just came to know she is Neil Kinnock's daughter-in-law. It's great she brought prime ministerial blood into the family.
