I think I've finally turned into my parents....problem is my mother hardly ever went to bed before 5:00am and my father (being a steelworker who came from farm stock) hardly ever slept past 4:00am. I can't think of any other reason I can't sleep anymore.

Why didn't they just get another bowl???

Cats are up to no good upstairs...sounds like a friggin herd of buffalo above me. No sense in going to look because they'll be all 'what?..it wasn't me' by the time I get there.

Chloe climbs in and snuggles under my arm, though, and puts her paws on my fingers sort of. Cute, but wakes me up and then she wants to be petted.

That's why I'm up at 5:45 a.m.

Oh, and then, since I'm up, could I feed her? You know, as long as I'm up.

i haven't slept a full night through since i moved, my GD cats wake me up multiple times every night with their thudding and hissing and meowing and "PET ME!"-ing. it's seriously wrecking my brain. in fact, i am awake now, at 5:45 in the morning because minmin decided she HAD to be pet RIGHT THEN and muggsy was already in bed and was NOT OK with minmin joining us...so then i kicked minmin out of the room and it was all "YOOOWL YOWWLLLL ABUUUUSEEEE" outside the door.

Mikey is my sleep cat, he watches me sleep and if I make any move he puts his paw on my face to make sure I am OK. He will have his face right up to mine and have his whiskers touching me, the second I open my eyes he is looking at me. It's kind of creepy.
He loves the puffy feather down, it crunches under his feet, and he likes to walk around under it, I think he feels safe under there.

Yeah, I think the cats have something to do with my waking in the middle of the night. Nathan has taken to sleeping at the foot of the bed on my side and he WILL NOT MOVE...Alice walks over my face to get to the water...Biscuit, Mia and Wolf have their own version of WWF going on in the living room.

And you can't lock them out because as you said they get all "YOOOWL YOWWLLLL ABUUUUSEEEE" outside the door.

Good luck today, let me know how it went, I have to clean the feed room today, the kittens managed to knock a bale of hay to the floor, I was real surprised when I saw it down as its very heavy. It must have been balanced just right for them to do that, I wonder if they were aiming for the dog?
The kittens grew up around hay, look how small Tom was.

When I was little, I had to share a room with my baby sister. That was bad enough in my young opinion at the time, even when baby sister was quiet and happy. However, our evil genius tortie discovered within about two days of sister's arrival that baby crying = Mom and/or Dad waking up. She already knew that Mom and/or Dad waking up = kitty feeding time. So in the wee hours of the morning she would jump into my sister's crib and paw at her until she woke up and started crying, thus rousing Mom and/or Dad, thus making them go downstairs, and since you're already in the kitchen you'll feed me, right?

Kitty spend quite a few nights in the basement after that.

Bonus fact, said baby sister is another September kid, and turns 31 next week! :)

Biscuit's saying "c'mon dad....let's go nap on the couch." I think I'll try to take him up on it for a couple hours. He's the best snuggler of the bunch.
