Should've used stainless.

2003-09-17 11:35:18 AM
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We've got the technology.

/got nothing

2003-09-17 02:43:53 PM

We can rebuild him. But I don't want to spend a lot of money.

2003-09-17 03:25:07 PM
Is it just me, or is the whole middle section blank?

Are his nuts rusting?
Is he totally screwed or just wired?
Does it make him short tempered?
Hot under the collar?

2003-09-17 03:30:21 PM
Obviously, he should have sued for $6 million.

2003-09-17 03:30:44 PM
$5 million dollars, and he's already breaking down ? Man, things definitely don't look well for my $5,000 Realdoll.

"Winter's complaints revolve largely around documents portraying the medical procedures as safe and reversible. Several doctors attest that, in fact, the long-term result has been repeated infections that have put Winter through about 30 surgeries in 10 years and still pose the threat of both legs amputated.

That's not a bug. It's a feature.

For a moment I thought they were talking about Bionic Commando! That was a good NES game. Made by Capcom in 1989. Very cool game. And challenging.

Yet another VA guinea pig. They got Grandpa too.

2003-09-17 03:33:51 PM
Its probably because his legs were running DOS.

2003-09-17 03:33:56 PM
I am amused. Finally someone seems to have an actual basis for their lawsuit, and we can only crack jokes? It looks like the VA really screwed this poor guy over. I hope he gets something for his troubles here, at the very least would be nice if they fulfilled their portion of the contract he signed with them.

2003-09-17 03:34:32 PM
We shall rebuild him in the form of a small girl who has a freakish red head next door neighbor, a sexually confused brother and a bumbling idiot for a dad. She shall be Bionic Vicki."

2003-09-17 03:34:50 PM
Heck, he should be cleaning up as a poster child for Segway.

Or at least serve as a warning to all those wetware consumers of the near future...

2003-09-17 03:35:20 PM
Why not sue for 6 million?

2003-09-17 03:35:51 PM
I was going to post something on-topic, but I got distracted by that goddess in the black bra - I'd like to...give...her...bionic...I got nada.

Paralyzed at 17, Winter, like many other participants in VA-sponsored research, is not a veteran.

As a strong, athletic 21-year-old who in high school baseball had ranked as one of Ohio's best pitchers, Winter dreamed of someday walking again. He signed up for the research program in 1983.

huh?

2003-09-17 03:36:08 PM
In other news, Lee Majors suing for his paralyzed career

2003-09-17 03:37:06 PM
"This guy is such a wuss."

2003-09-17 03:38:40 PM
Sounds like the guy is very ungrateful that tax dollars and not insurance was spend on him. He didn't understand all the consent forms he signed? Duh

2003-09-17 03:39:36 PM

See? He should have invested in the mobile repair station.

2003-09-17 03:39:55 PM
J777D -

Even paralized people can play sports & work out...'specially if they're only parapalegics.

2003-09-17 03:40:05 PM
Damn, they no longer treat him as if he were human. THat is farking sick.

What else did you expect? I'm just waiting for an "I'd hit it... with a zimmerframe" comment, and someone trying to prove it was Bush's and/or Clinton's fault, and then the thread will be complete.

2003-09-17 03:43:18 PM
So he took a free handout through a research program because he was already paralyzed, it works for a while then deteriorates and he's suing because....his free handout allowed him to walk for a number of years when without the surgery he volunteered for he would have never had those years of walking?

Yeah, piss off, that's like signing up for the army and then suing when you get shot in combat.

I'd give him free health care to take care of his medical conditions stemming from the implants but otherwise I'd serve him a big can of STFU.

2003-09-17 03:44:32 PM
The fact was that they promised to remove all the implants they put in him, and then later didn't.

2003-09-17 03:44:37 PM
This is unfortunate, but I don't know if it's a legitimate case. I feel terrible for him, but he had to know what a dangerous experiment this would be.

2003-09-17 03:44:39 PM
His doctors were just like the Nazis, but I bet Clinton put them up to it.

Cthulus_Toaster

Could they remove them now, or are they too infused into his system?

2003-09-17 03:52:25 PM
Bionics are cool, I once knew this guy, we'll call him Ash, he had to cut his hand off once (it went bad). And then he replaced it with a chainsaw. Oh, and he also went back in time, and built a mechanical hand out of a suit of armor. Ash was smart like that. He could make gunpowder and stuff just by reading an old science book.

2003-09-17 03:53:24 PM
Barbara20, the article said his consent forms guaranteed him x-rays and such. The center is now denying him said x-rays.

Sound argument to me.

2003-09-17 03:54:08 PM
Can he use the 'clapper?

2003-09-17 03:55:48 PM
People with corroding wires in their legs probably voted for Bush and like the second ammendment.

There.

2003-09-17 03:55:59 PM
Apparently, we don't have the technology...

2003-09-17 03:57:33 PM
